is anyone paying for advisors? i'm new to this and probs a bit green when it comes to this kind of things. i was approached by someone who is promising the world and all the connections and opening doors andall to advise my kid but just don't know what I'm getting into. pretty expensive too.

Why are you categorizing 12 year olds with agents? Stop living through your kid. Some of you still tie their skates and tape their sticks. Relevance now means nothing until the year before and the year of their draft year. Easy there, superstar. Way to take it next level. If my kid can be the best beer league player, i'll be happy with that. I'm more concerned about his experience. Noone's going to the show. My focus is more on these shady characters (a.k.a failures) trying to make (scam) a quick buck by pushing their "professional" services on unsuspecting parents.
