This is the dumbest “never played high level sports” comment. The earlier post was correct. Playing in a harder situation, learning to work with what you have and learning to compete is where development happens. Playing with better players prepares you for nothing.
Ok. Keep telling yourself that.
Wow you’re dumb.
Ok thank you
Let me explain in a more relevant way for you. You take a very rich family of which there are a lot in the g. You give your kid everything they want, the best stick, the best training everything at home and they go through life with no struggle (similar to playing on a top team in the sense of struggle) and they often turn out unsuccessful. Now you take a kid who doesn’t get everything they want, they struggle and they tend to be more successful. Hoping that lands a little better. Stop thinking that at the early ages thet you need to be on a top team! I get it that it does matter at the later ages it is important to be on a top team
Your kid must suck :(
What’s happening at JRC ?

Guest wrote: Fri Apr 21, 2023 9:39 pm First 3 Rounds (top 62 picks)

GTHL - 26

OMHA - 20

ALLIANCE - 7

USA - 6

HEO - 1

OTHER (North league, Jr B etc) - 3

Fairly close but the G still reigns supreme
The G has 204 U16 kids playing if my math is right... to have 26 picked in the first 3 rounds is pretty impressive. OMHA has double the teams, do the math...
G area has more population than O area, and they have only half of the u16 aaa players, and even leass, as the 204 u16 players, some of them comes from O.

Exactly, a total train wreck. 1-2-3 barely making the playoffs.

The D will rush the puck, the forwards won’t pass, it will the most individual skate up the ice team ever put together.
The new players coming in are selfish individuals and will destroy this team rapidly.

Anyone know what the breakdown is in the ohl
G vs O players?
It’s literally 50/50 but the iPAYintheG monkeys won’t want to hear about “garbage” leagues producing good players. Look at the top 10 today and do the math.
Not interested in top 10
If the ohl is the best development league prep to the the next level, some may now say the ncaa but I truly wonder how many are g and how many are o regardless of the age.
Point is, I have the feeling the balance is on the o side.
Go do the math and let us know.
I’m in the g but one of the big problems with the g is the super teams that form. I personally think parents make the mistake of taking a really good player and put him on a top team where you are always playing with good players. There is something to be said about a great kid struggling but making a difference on a mid pack team. Similar to playing in the o where you can be the guy while also struggling playing with weaker players. This is how great players are created

Not necessarily. Playing with top players lets other great players maximize their potential. Playing with exceptional players also preps kids for playing with better kids at the next level. There’s a reason the overwhelming number of picks are from top teams.

look at the OHL draft...DMF is a 6 th place team. they had more forwards drafted in the top 60 then the marlins (a top team). HMMMMM

VK cleaned out the garage to make room for the superstars coming in. Powerhouse!
