I know kids who have gone to ncdc. Complaint is being cut and dropped to premier but they knew when they were tendered it only meant invite to main camp. Nothing close to the complaints I have heard about treatment by some cchl teams including not honoring signed junior a contracts, not releasing players without playing games about release fee or verbal abuse by hot headed ego maniac owners etc...

What a joke, you want to Not Allowed on a CCHL team that cuts you, but have nothing bad to say about the NCDC. They will bring you down, promise you a spot on the NCDC team, you may change schools, get a billet family, change your life around or put it on hold for this, bit if they drop you to an even lower level of hockey at the last minute. You're ok with it!?!?!?! Stop bending over for this crap league sweetheart. At least in the CCHL, you're at home!!

Go for it champ, go play NCDC, and tell us all the glory and opportunities it brought you. I mean the NCDC can surely use some positive REAL press these days as it's only negative. Tell us you LIVED experience we would live to hear it!!
He has no lived experience with that crap league. He reads online and believes every word. Like you said, if you love it so much and it's so much better than the CCHL, go play there-nobody is stopping you.
If NCDC drops you, you play Premier. You know that going in. Where do you go if CCHL messes with you? Or cuts you in December. Junior B is not in same class as Premier or EHL. I haven't heard the NCDC investigated by anyone. I have heard HC is all over one franchise.
Junior B is much much better than Premier or EHL. Not even close.

NCDC is rogue, no rules. Good luck with your little utopia. You have no idea what you're talking about. I love it
Your credibility just hit rock bottom. Ehl alone gets 120 players a year into d3 schools.
Prove it

Ottawa or Carleton place. It is a two team league. Smith falls tried to buy a championship last year and failed.

Guest wrote: Sun Sep 10, 2023 12:24 pm I'm hoping for some constructive advice from this group. The player was drafted and played in U18 last year. This year he was released from that Junior A team and will probably be playing Jr.B for the year. My question is if he is only able to sign with the CCHL team that drafted him as a nonproteced player as an affiliate, or is he free to play for any of the teams as an affiliate?

The team that drafted him owns his rights until he's 18. Unless they trade him or give you a release, you can only affiliate to that CCHL team. Rarely do they give releases
Wouldn't that make every drafted player a free agent on their 18th birthday?
Yes. CCHL teams, just like other leagues, need to watch how they treat players. If a player continues to develop and now is a legitimate Jr.A player, they can consider ALL options, not just the one team that drafted them. How they were treated, may impact their decision.
Interesting. Where can I find out more information on this, specifically that an 18 year old is a free agent and does not need a release or trade to move on to another CCHL organization?
Go the website, try reading. If you can't get your answer, email the league. Or wait here for the absolute truth on everything!
I read before asking. Maybe I'm not reading the right information.

CCHL website https://www.thecchl.ca/protected-player ... s-drafting doesn't seem to say anything specific to age 18. It says players on the U18 active roster should be on the U17 list, and the U17 list shall be moved to that teams 40 player List for the off season.

The only thing I see regarding age and rights is for removal from a Team's 40 player list at age 19:
A player who is on a Team’s protection list, who is offered a Junior ‘A’ card by that Team, but refuses to sign said card can be placed on that Team’s 40-Player List and remain on said list until August 1st of that player’s 19th year.

As for emailing the league, great idea, but I want to know what I'm talking about before asking questions.

I would say CP, Renfrew and Navan favorites right now. Tough to tell til rosters are finalized though. Also some teams just started to play and others played 5-10 games so far so difficult to compare.

They are at a big disadvantage in recruiting because of location.

Do a little research. EHL year after year provides numerous players to Div 3. Predominantly a 19 and 20 year old league.. They know what they are and do it well. Quite expensive though.
