Lots of great diversity in GTA & the G already. Coaches are welcoming of TALENT.

How do you buy a non profit? Can the Gthl explain that question? There seems to be something wrong with the Gthl and this is not heading in the right direction.

Younger generation is definitely much more open mind than we are. But it doesn’t mean that dinosaurs like Garry should get a free pass.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 6:40 pm My 10 and 12 year olds didnt know what n@@@r meant or was until they hewrd it in music. They didny know that trans people were ridiculed or treated poorly u til the saw protests.....
My point is that all of this awarness is also accidentally growing the si.ple existence of the issues.
If we just told our kids lots of people are different for a lot of reason, and none are better tham the other, we would be fine.
Over-bandwidth for these issues is growing the problem too. My kids for 1 didnt have a clue that anyone should think of any of this stuff until the "activist" style groups gave the problem more airtime than the solution. Now my kids wonder if they are weird for not giving a shit about other people being different. They now think they need to have an opinion on it because its in their face constantly. My experience.

Re: GTHL statement re March 2nd meeting
Nobody is saying that there arent issues.. But the only reason a lot of people even know to bithc and complain is because the problem gets more airtime than the solution!!
Awful metaphor here but, off the top of your head, can you tell me a victim from Columbine? I can tell you the bad guys names from 20 yesrs ago!!! Why dont we cancel the bad guys, and celebrate the good people who lost theor lives.
What im saying is that maybe expansion is the right idea, with a lot of proper involvement. But a solid and stern infrastructure about diversity will help this issue.
Making a seperate and inequal playing field extends the division.... And im as inclusive as it gets... But it has to be sustainable, and credible.

If the GTHL was transparent in its business, if the orgs were transparent and committed to great coaching and providing good experiences, if side deals, money men, gouging, mandatory extras and name your next scam didn’t exist. The GTHL would be filled to the brim with enough talent to fill 20 AAA teams. But every reasonable person who has witnessed that money draining sesspool has eventually said F it, I’m done. They’ve created their own mess. The only way to save it is to blow it up and start again.

What he said! The G needs to turn these teams back into non-profits like they're supposed to be. G AAA is a league for the rich, not the best. I don't think the colour of your skin matters as much as the parents ability to line the pockets of the coach and organization. If AAA was based on talent, half the kids would be replaced. But we all know that will never happen too many scumbags making too much money, plus an organization that doesn't have the guts to change to landscape. So sad!Guest wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2023 8:59 am100% agree.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2023 12:25 am If the GTHL was transparent in its business, if the orgs were transparent and committed to great coaching and providing good experiences, if side deals, money men, gouging, mandatory extras and name your next scam didn’t exist. Re: GTHL statement re March 2nd meeting
Once the G becomes non profit, hopefully the politics and BS will STOP!!
Re: GTHL statement re March 2nd meeting
This is not entirely true. G AAA is for the best of the best and then if you are not in that very small group of the absolute best, it is for people who are willing to pay. Money is clearly a massive issue for the whole hockey complex, but the truly elite kids (those that are first round OHL draft kids, playing top tier NCAA) the GTHL makes a ton of sense. For everyone else, if you have the money to spend then go for it.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2023 9:11 amWhat he said! The G needs to turn these teams back into non-profits like they're supposed to be.
