Guest wrote: Mon Mar 17, 2025 5:53 pm Hi looking for some help. We are from the OMHA. We are considering staying in our center (top half team) or jumping to either NATS, NYR, VK or MM. Can anyone comment on these teams. Interested in a good environment for our son and good solid coaching. Thanks (and yes, stupidity will be ignored).
Stay away from MM. Coach is horrible with kids. Plays his nephew every other shift. Will make you attend his eLiTe skating sessions and have you continue attending all while not giving you a straight answer of if he would take your kid. If your kid is not a stud he won’t play much. Several pages back you’ll see lots would say the same about him.
How dare you. Ammal is as straight of a shooter as they come. I can't think of a single time he has lied or led someone on. Always gives ice time based on how well the kid plays. Only benches the kids who don't perform. Go to him if you want a true AAA experience.
If by straight shooter you mean the same Ammal that calls the kids at his "showcase" tuesday skate "AA garbage" to parents he's trying to recruit, yet tells those same "AA garbage" parents to keep bringing them for skates so he can "have another look" ... yeah... definitely a straight shooter.
Took my kid to an Ammal skate and my kid told me he did not want to play for him. Enough said. If my 9 year old can figure it out, so can you. Those kids are miserable. Are they happy to play AAA? yes. Did they get offers elsewhere? Nope. I would never subject my kid to that, if I didn't have to. Of course, if it was the only team, then yes, I'd pick MM. That's the truth.
Can’t argue with results though. His team is still playing right now while 4 other teams aren’t. Tied the nats. He’s doing something right.

Parents are absolute wingnuts too. especially the dad of the D kid (last name starts with I). Someone tell this guy nobody wants to hear his stories of how he was a super athelte as a kid and it's not impressive that you go for a run during morning skates.

To the original poster - everyone who talks shit on here has an angle to play. Go talk to actual parents on the teams you are interested in and be a big boy and make a decision that works for you and your family

Nats **
DMF goalie stood on his head , he had to have faced 30+ shots and a few that just hit the knob of his stick. Looks like he won't get big games next year with TM goalie coming in. DMF was outplayed
Marlies goalie is the most overhyped goalie in the league.
Is the one going to DMF the brick goalie or the one that is staying at TM the brick goalie?
Neither goalies are staying at TM everyone is running from there
Running from them? They upgraded to JS. He will be the brick goalie. They upgraded for a reason

You are embarassing.
😂😂😂😂. Okay mom your kids the last pick of both teams happy to be there I bet like the rest of the B squad.
U-P-G-R-A-D-E-D
Oh please, that marlie team next year is pathetic every kid either has a speech impediment, an ascent or a studddddder. The only U-P-G-R-A-D-E they are getting is a speech therapist!!
Obviously just jelous of the brick expierence and how things are shaping for TBD. Your all obsessed with TBD and TM.

JRC embarrassed him last game.
RL and TR from TM make it pretty hard to be a goalie on that team. Haven’t seen much worse in AAA hockey. So hard to watch.
Oh you are back… How was USA ?

What results? These guys beat the tt and trw to get into the playoffs, and are now getting pumped. Expect MM to be in last next year (ps, to the OP, I can validate, more or less, what the above poster is saying about MM and it's coach).

Teams that take good kids that are hard working, have hockey IQ and have character are going to be more successful. Focus on actual development instead of treating these kids like 9 year old chess pieces. That’s where you want your kid to go.
