Summer’s about to be one big “tryout and pray” season… no commits until the bitter end and we’re out here hoping for top minutes, some letters on the jersey, and zero bottom feeder teams. Good luck to all the kids grinding it out!
Re: 2009 GTHL AAA
Reality finally starting to set in to those parents who paid a small fortune for Brick, who watched their kids dominate when they were 10 years old, walked and talked like their kids were the next McDavid. Then the jealousy set in when other players were doing better and getting more ice than yours. How does it feel now? Humble Pie doesn't taste so good does it? Karma is a b***h.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Apr 28, 2025 7:27 am Summer’s about to be one big “tryout and pray” season… no commits until the bitter end and we’re out here hoping for top minutes, some letters on the jersey, and zero bottom feeder teams. This year is messed up with all the 07 and 08 picks coming back to play in the Ohl. U18 is going to have competitive teams up and down the league so don't feel bad if you haven't got a commit yet. Everyone is playing poker and keeping cards to their chest. Coaches know 09 kids are tyring out for JrA and others are holding spots for 08s and 09s hoping to get cuts in August. Its a stressful year for coaches and players all playing waiting gamesGuest wrote: ↑Mon Apr 28, 2025 7:27 am Summer’s about to be one big “tryout and pray” season… no commits until the bitter end and we’re out here hoping for top minutes, some letters on the jersey, and zero bottom feeder teams. Its very different this year with the rule changes. U18 coaches and kids at all levels playing waiting gamesGuest wrote: ↑Mon Apr 28, 2025 7:27 am Summer’s about to be one big “tryout and pray” season… no commits until the bitter end and we’re out here hoping for top minutes, some letters on the jersey, and zero bottom feeder teams. Re: 2009 GTHL AAA
My kid tries for AAA every single year and never makes it. This year we are back again and hitting up all the tryouts. This year is do or die, I told my kid he has to make it this year. Last season he was a bit of a bench warmer and next season we want him to light it up.
