Honestly it looks about right, of courses there is always a team that surprises.. This might not be exactly how I would draw it up but its close enough I got no issues. And the explanation of the method is solid.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jun 10, 2025 10:07 amI mean, I can't keep up with EVERY single game teams play against each other. Was it TRULY fall roster vs fall roster? If so, then they probably slip into that next tier. The tiers might shake up a bit every two months or so. Kids change a lot, and rapidly. TM // JRC
VK // Nats // DMF
TT //SENS
TRW // REPS
MM // Rebels // NYR
- TRW has an opportunity to move up if they get a different coach who knows what hes doing
- VK//Nats // DMF all have an opportunity to play competitive hockey with TM and JRC with good coaching
- REPS will be a totally different team next year when it blows up and OHP lady is told to kick rocks
- NYR are the least toxic team
- TT and SENS both have solid rosters, just simply aren't "Super teams"
OMHA: 5 Tiers as well, this is what the first half of the season will look like.
WW
QRD
YSE // BJC // APR // KING
PETB // COW
NCP // MW // NS
- WW won't have a competitive game against anyone except QRD, who might even squeak out a win against them
- YSE, BJC, APR, KING all have really solid teams with solid coaching should all be competitive with each other. APR might be the first team to drop out of this group.
- NCP as one or two really good players and then dog shit
- MW is a mess
- NS is durham kids left overs after APR/WW/COW all got first pick
- PETB is my sleeper team to possibly come out of no where.
Good luck to everyone!
A lot of this, just like anyone else trying to do it, is basing it off of LOTS of things:
- Individual kids I am aware of and where they went (I've been coaching in the age group for 4 years, I know A LOT of the kids either personally or through people or through IG. So if the top kid off a team goes somewhere, you are aware of it)
- previous year team results (Some teams "transplanted" more or less the entire team last year into a team this year. You can't account for random add on players, unless you know who they are. And you can't account for young players growth or decline every 6 months but you can have a solid idea. VK, WW, NATs, APR, KING, TRW, etc were all more or less a full team moving.)
- Spring team results (This one is tough, because you never TRULY know who is on which team. Teams are greasy as heck. But, you can still get a pretty good idea of teams when they play as a unit. WW, VK, JRC, TM, REPS, NYR, APR, KING, Nats all have spring teams out there where they are playing more or less as a team.)
- Rumors (Everything you read here, you need to take with a grain of salt, but you can get some decent info and then go and look it up yourself. Or if you happen to hear the same things from multiple different [unbiased] sources you can start to put together a decent story)
- Gut feel (there is things like team "public perspective", for example: no one goes to MM as their first choice, no one goes to NS as their first choice. So their "filler players are likely worse then the "filler players" for YSE, DMF, SENS. Teams like TM, JRC, WW all own either a brick team or they have arguably the best run organization in youth sports right now. Players will always go there, if given the option and they belong)
- Coaches (For example, APR coach is a good coach. He took a team of solid T2 kids and brought them into the heart of T1 all season. Vs. TRW coach took a incredibly talented roster and potentially made them worse from beginning of year to end)

To complete the analysis….
From the Alliance, Brantford will compete with anyone. Basically the draft day elite team that have been competitive at all the big spring tourneys. They will beat some big teams at silver stick, definitely a dark horse to compete with Whitby.
Niagara will be very strong, probably similar to the analysis of Quinte.
Oakville and Burlington both shook up their MD groups and added from outside. Oakville goaltending is probably tops in the province. With solid coaching both could compete with all the tier 2 teams but not at JRC/Marlies/WW/Brantford level.
Rest of OMHA West is quite weak. While the rest of Alliance is dependant on the kids from London and whether they all went to one super team (I haven’t heard one way or another).

Re: 2016 AAA
Wrong. These rankings are as good as any, you are just a sour grapes parent who's team is somewhere you don't like. Get over it. (I am 99% you are a young nats parent - worst parents in the age group)Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jun 10, 2025 10:49 amThe specific reason is that this was written by someone who doesnt have a clue and istn paying attention. Re: 2016 AAA
This guy seems out to lunch. Which spring teams are TM, NYR or Reps? I heard someone say it was PH but I saw at least 6 kids that are not on TM.
Re: 2016 AAA
Complete nonsense from the guy with time to write 10 paragraphs during a weekday. PH has had few players from other teams like JRC. So how can this be used to evaluate a winter team. VK and Nats had pretty much the winter rosters. Some Tournaments TB has played with JRC roster. The way things look JRC, VK, Nats will be very strong. WW will blow up after a year of being stranded on an island.
Re: 2016 AAA
Who ever takes home first place, congratulations. Please don't be a douchebag. These are all 10 year olds who just want to play hockey and there's more to it than winning.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jun 10, 2025 12:46 pm Complete nonsense from the guy with time to write 10 paragraphs during a weekday. Apparently the London kids split up so looks like Brantford will run away with Alliance. They will be better than any omha team in the west at least.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jun 10, 2025 10:50 am To complete the analysis….

Oakville I heard didn't add much and favored local MD kids over outsiders but idk. Burlington and niagara should be good. Judging by how many showed up to tryouts I'd wager credit river, southern tier and halton are towards the bottom. Hamilton and guelph in the middle. I don't know anything about grey Bruce.
Re: 2016 AAA
NYR and Reps definitely dont have spring teams. But the ranking guy needs that to not be true to make these rankings and will come up with some nonsense to justify it allGuest wrote: ↑Tue Jun 10, 2025 12:26 pm This guy seems out to lunch.
