If all the said “top” players play for other teams, how is TYN and TM in the finals? Are they really top players or are the better players on the teams playing now?
Will tyn bounce back? No
Did the call up kids make a difference? who got callled up?
Is the suspended kid back for next game? one more game

I absolutely love these questions...and would add the following as things to consider:Guest wrote: ↑Wed Apr 19, 2023 10:37 amI thought AD is a good coach, Brick guy?Guest wrote: ↑Wed Apr 19, 2023 10:21 amVK got out coached and their goalie let them down when it mattered most. Does the coaching really make that much difference?
A team that ran through the league changed that much?
If top players got shut down, are they really that special?
All serious questions. Just seems odd to me.
1. Coaching absolutely matters and CAN have a huge impact! However, most of the current coaches, and many of the parents are unaware of the age-relevant impact areas of GREAT coaching for 11/12 year olds. Many believe it is systems and X's and O's.......ie the hockey knowledge/experience the coach has and will give to the kids. Unfortunately, this is not how it works. Hockey knowledge has a role and developing age appropriate systems also has a role....but NONE of that matter if the coach does not have the ability to teach kids this age (can not relate with them).
2. In terms of top players ...98% of what you see is maturity and not talent. The kids that grow first, have the advantage of more than 25 physiological changes that result in superior , strength, speed, stamina and coordination (only to name a few). This advantage leads to an increased confidence from social-identity to self-identity. True or not true....the early growers falsely believe (and their parents) they are the MVP and thus they practice and play hard given all the attention around them. 99% of coaches miss- identify this (due to lack of education) and think these are kids that "compete' hard etc.. They do compete hard but not for the reasons the coach believes, but rather the fake environment that has been created around them!
If we have coaches that are more educated in adolescence growth and development will will end up with better talent identification and much superior training environments for the kids!
