Most coaches are piss poor communicators, in love with the game, can't teach it and maybe had a sniff playing Jr. C somewhere and now consider themselves "hockey guys" with "hockey knowledge", able to teach and coach kids. LOL Laughable, guys that dig ditches are there for a reason. People who teach and coach in your school system are at least educated. Not perfect system either but just outlining the difference. Think about how your hockey coaches treat players vs how teachers treat your kids!
Teachers are petrified to hold a kid accountable for anything these days, with the fear of of becoming the next viral sensation thanks to cell phone recordings. I know three teachers who openly say that they don't know the names of any of the kids in their class and no matter how poor a kid is doing, they give them a passing grade just so they don't have to deal with the parents.

Coaches hold kids accountable...which parents interpret as "poor communication" and "inability to teach"...when the reality is that the kid doesn't listen because he doensn't have listen in school or at home and thanks to his parents he doesn't understand the concept of merit based reward nor consequences based on his actions.
FAR too many coaches are premedonnas. Ironically they sre nowhere good enough to be a premedonna.

Coaches are also unorganized, lack planning, don't take input from anyone and are know it alls, who are stuck in the 80's .

Coaches amd accountability should never be in the same sentence
Says the parent of the most entitled, delicate and confused generation of kids the world has ever seen. The parents of these fragile kids are the ones who are failing them…not teachers or coaches.

Far too many parents focus on preparing the road for their kids, rather than preparing their kids for the road.

Thanks to todays failed parenting, 8 out 10 kids who play any team sport today don’t have the mental and emotional fortitude nor sport IQ necessary to be coached.
So you want accountability to go only one way!

Typical of JT supporters.

Put yourself out there and give parents a choice so they can play for you, in your self absorbed low level hockey program, or leave freely-no strings. Coaches like you need protection and don't want people to have choice. You're weak, afraid and need administrative protection. Try earning your way for once and stand on your own. Have some dignity. You don't have the coping skills or resiliency to deal with being held accountable. That requires hard work and integrity. You have neither.
Here we go again with the borders...

As long as your kid is treated like a superstar, you have no issues with his coach...the minute that coach holds your kid accountable, you want to hold the coach accountable. Typical Karen...not getting your way so your cry for accountability.

If thats how "accountability" works...then somebody needs to hold you accountable for raising a lazy, selfish brat who's making Minor Atom mistakes in Bantam.

Most coaches are lazy, uninformed and treat players and parents poorly.

This offends you snowflake. Deal with it.

Your kid is way too fragile for this sport, deal with it.

You're full of shit when you say your kid "made it"...if he were good enough to "make it" you would have had a much different experience and wouldn't have a bag full of axes to grind with all the d-bag coaches that were so horrible to your kid.

Surprise surprise, I'm not a coach...I'm part of the core group of parents who roll their eyes  at parents like you. We smile and greet you when we see you at the rink, but behind closed doors we all agree that we that it would be in the best interest of the team if the would cut your kid, just to get rid of you. Unfortunately the coaches my kids played for didn't believe in parent cuts, so we had to tolerate your stench for the entire season.

That's funny? This is a little more than you had a bad shift kid. How about cornering a kid in the room, grabbing him by the jersey, drunk, swearing and calling a 10 year old a piece of shit and that he's going to kick the shit out of him and he needs to learn how to shut his mouth. I'd say that qualifies.
