The goal is to get my son a great education from a well-regarded school and have the chance play hockey with a good school team. Does a school like SAC offer grants or scholarships?

My son is an A student and a good AAA hockey player and I think he’d enjoy a school where he can be around likeminded kids but we just wouldn’t be able to afford the tuition :(
Are these schools (UCC, SAC, StMikes) now quite diverse now? This wasn't the case thirty years ago.

UCC, SAC, StMikes are more elite schools than Everest and The Hill.

UCC, SAC, StMikes your kid has to be actually smart too. Everest and The Hill take anyone.
Is varsity hockey in Toronto any good? Do they play for the school and the GTHL at the same time?

What’s the goal? NHL?

Do these schools guarantee your kid will make NHL?
Please tell me this is a joke question?

The Hill or Everest for kids that are struggling with their school work and are average players that can benefit from extra ice time and the physical activity. SAC, ST M.I.K.E.’S and UCC for smart students and elite athletes, you need to be interviewed and they will check your grades. My son also had to write an entrance exam.
Well said. The topic is over. UCC, SAC and St Mikes are where any bright person will start. Quite frankly if my kid couldn’t get in one of these three schools, public school is next best option and try again the following year. Stay focused on these three schools

I wouldn’t say those schools are for elite athletes 😆
These aren’t American prep schools like IMG Academy…..
But the quality of the education and the schools themselves are excellent. I have one son at St Mikes now and I highly recommend any of those three mentioned.

They are excellent schools and way better than those hockey academies that have been popping up that tried to pawn themselves off as “academic and athletics” when everybody knows they just push students through.

These new private hockey schools are popping up like weeds, and it’s so obvious they’re just cash grabs. Parents are out here spending crazy money for four years, thinking their kid’s gonna make it, and then boom, graduation comes, and they’re working regular jobs like everyone else. Nothing wrong with that, but let’s be real… nobody’s going to the show.

Ain’t no way I’m dropping a fortune on some private hockey school unless they’re handing out NHL contracts at the door, these places see parents coming a mile away, all starry eyed, and cash right in. Low key, it’s just a pricey daycare with a weak education and zero guarantees.

Likeminded kids?

It's like-minded parents who like to burn money that's all.
