Anyone have any honest input on the “bottom” 3 teams ? My son just came from an A team and signed to one of these teams. I know this forum is a lot of angry people venting but does any of it hold merit ? I’m starting to worry maybe we made the wrong decision. We’re new to all the politics I just want to make sure my son is on a team with good coaching and good parents Everything I am reading is terrifying me. My husband is ready to pull him out based on what he’s reading about the coaching and parents on one of these teams , please help me calm him down. I know you can’t really believe much on this forum but any honest input or advice would be very much appreciated. We were sold the pathway to AAA with the best coaches for development dream. I hope we didn’t make the wrong decision

I'll try to give an honest review. There are three bottom-level teams in the league: ST, FT, and WML. There’s also a tiny chance your child went to MNS, so I’ll include a few words about them just in case.
If you’re with MNS, there’s no reason to worry—enjoy your season. It’s a good team with good coaches, and overall, there's nothing to be concerned about.
WML is, on paper, the weakest team in the loop. Not all of their players are strong, but the coach is solid and genuinely focused on teaching kids how to play hockey. A family friend of ours was looking for a team in the west, had offers from 3–4 clubs, and ultimately chose WML despite their record. The kids are respectful, and the parents are decent too—they really deserve better results.
FT is more of a mixed bag. It’s not a particularly strong team; the parents can be a bit noisy, though not excessively so, and the players are average overall. They’re the second-worst team in the standings for a reason, but there may still be some potential for improvement. It’s a team without a distinctive identity—neither in a good nor bad sense.
ST is a team to be cautious about. They make a good first impression, but the more you get to know them, the more that impression fades. I won’t go into detail about the negatives. Few positives: their practices are actually quite solid, and one of the assistant coaches is very capable. The new head coach, while not outstanding, is more logical and consistent than the previous one. Unless your son is a goalie—and I assume he’s not—they’re unlikely to play certain kids more than others without reason. In that regard, they tend to be relatively fair.
