Anyone have any honest info/opinion on the Mustangs? Good team and coaching?
Honest opinion from a dad whose son has played against the Mustangs for the past four years:
They are usually very talented. They are also very undisciplined and play dirty. Lots of cheap shots after the whistle, lots of dives, lots of running the goalie, lots of trash talk. Talking to parents on other teams, they seem to be the team that almost everyone else has the most problems with. There was the incident with Jacobs in the East final, SIR had a big issue with them earlier this season (running the goalie), and I've heard from parents at NT, Leaside, WH and East Enders last year who also had problems. The parents are very vocal and confrontational in the stands. At least one dad got booted from a game last year versus Leaside for taunting and swearing at Leaside's goalie after Mustangs tied the game late.
We know kids on the team and they are good kids and their parents are ok too, but some of the on ice and off ice stuff makes them hard to like. We also know of some good kids who left because they hated the environment but that's all opinion so take it for what it is worth.
Thanks for the detailed response it’s appreciated. That is what I’ve heard from others and quite frankly what I want to avoid.
