My son is a 2016 and i would like him to play in the GTHL next year as we live in Brampton and would much rather the GTHL drives then the credit river option.
We have chatted with a few coaches who all say the same thing “let me know if you figure out your address”
What exactly does that entail. I know people fake or change addresses but how exactly do you get away with it as i was told they ask for school proof and a utility bill.
Obviously there are families that actually move schools and houses for their kid to play in the GTHL but i am looking for if it’s possible without any type of move. I heard it’s possible so appreciate the help
I've done it. It's harder then just a school and utility bill especially if you own a home in Brampton.
We had to show proof we are renting out our home and a lease agreement for a GTA house, utility bill, school, drivers license updates for both parents, car insurance updates & house insurance. Once its done and approved you are good.
When you change your son's address to the GTHL be sure to change their school to a GTHL school.
G's cracking down. Many parents providing fake school records. For example : address is in the G but attends school in London, Welland, Hamilton

What happens if you have approval and someone reports you? Do they do an investigation?

They can't call a school and ask if the kid is attending or not. That's ridiculous.

What kind of desperate loser would report someone else?

Won't be the G that reports.
I've seen it when a coach keeps a kid in town and says, "I've got three kids on my team that go to school with him".
1) people report each other all the time (its sad)
2) G is on to the fake report cards and fake school letters and is calling the school themselves
3) if you are caught, your are not able to play any team/any organization for 1 full year
4) 2010 and 2009 age the worst

Back again .. this is why you send your kid to a private school within the GTA. Spend the $$$ on the private school and you avoid all this investigative mess.

If you're kid is good they will find him/her.... no need to put the effort into the G.... nothing is guaranteed when you get there..... Top to middle of the pack teams in the OMHA and Alliance produce young talented hockey players
You hear about jealous parents reporting kids all the time. If you have your kid in a school and renting a legit spot in Toronto you have nothing to worry about. Otherwise your kid won’t be playing hockey for a year if caught lying. Like others mentioned. OMHA and Alliance top teams produce good players and staying close to home means you avoid all the traffic in Toronto rush hour multiple times a week for practice.
