Changing Addresses - GTHL

Post by Guest »

My son is a 2016 and i would like him to play in the GTHL next year as we live in Brampton and would much rather the GTHL drives then the credit river option.

We have chatted with a few coaches who all say the same thing “let me know if you figure out your address”

What exactly does that entail. I know people fake or change addresses but how exactly do you get away with it as i was told they ask for school proof and a utility bill.

Obviously there are families that actually move schools and houses for their kid to play in the GTHL but i am looking for if it’s possible without any type of move. I heard it’s possible so appreciate the help

That is illegal and wrong. You would be willing to lie so your child can play in the GTHL.

I dont care about the whole GTHL vs OMHA AAA things. im not a delusional dad who thinks there kid is a superstar. I just much rather prefer the short drive to Mississauga for practices and the rest of the GTHL region then where I would have to drive for credit river. Appreciate any insight on how this process is done.

It isn't easy and you will basically need to forge documents if you don't plan on switching schools or houses. If your boy was in private school it would be a bit easier as they aren't tied to districts. The schools with hockey programs are the easiest as they have been through the process many times. There is big money in kids playing in the GTHL and parents have tried many tricks over the years so the process is not easy.

Coaches say 'figure out your address' as it really isn't their decision, they are basically saying they can't help you as you need to get ohf approval. You need to file the paperwork and if you are eligilble to register than you are good to go.

Look up the LOR rules. You don't need a new address if you're in Brampton as it falls under LOR. Lower Ontario Region. LOR centers are Oakville, Brampton, Markham, Ajax Pickering and used to be Richmond Hill but not sure since AAA folded.

Brampton is a shithole. Call a good realtor and leave for real.

With Brampton if your kid does not make the team under LOR he should be able to go to the G.

Lol it’s not illegal and it’s only wrong to idiots who want closed borders which thankfully are a dying breed.
