Unless u sit on the OMHA competition committee you don’t have a clue what’s going on. COW was the fourth best ETA association last year with a growing population of hockey players. They will continue to get better. They sent 4/8 teams to OMHA last year. Their track record over the next few years will prove that this comment is false.
This...

I don't pretend to know anything about what decisions are being made, but from an outsiders perspective, this doesn't make ANY sense. Its a good team, in an area that has ZERO other teams, with a population growing. Its a well run organization from what i've heard as well. Its also in an area that makes it a team that a lot of other teams can schedule games with and have them be a reasonable distance.

I guess we will see - but it makes zero sense.

Not sure, but I’m curious if they still have the KHL pipeline going.

They took some kids from KSL but also from MD. How is Barrie MD looking in comparison to KSL?

The NN/STA merger has been talked about for years but can't see it happening

Reducing the teams doesn't make it more competitive. The good players will always leave because of lack of development. Parents will get tired of driving their 8 year old over an hour to practice/play/develop 6 days a week until they are 16.

If the organizations invested the crazy amount of money they get into proper development programs they would be more successful and hired coaches that can teach they can get better.
Top G teams are driven to develop and win, OMHA teams protect their friends kid.
Fake news…top G teams only care about one thing. 💰 💰 💰 And all the crazy kids go to build a “wagon” only to realize they are getting less ice time and growth than if they stayed at home and spent the extra cash on their own kids’ development.

Three top teams on a 33 game schedule is not development. That’s only 6 great competitive games per season, for those of you who can’t do the math.

Is OMHA really that bad? Is it improving? I heard the OHL drafted more OMhA players in the first round this year.

That may or may not be true but there are almost twice as many OMHA teams as GTHL teams, so that wouldn’t be all that impressive.
