Not to be a Debby downer, this is part of my job I have in Contingency planning.

Its actually really stupid to have an entire team travel together. Bus issues, car accidents, bus not showing up, traffic, etc They impact the entire team, instead of a handful of people.

So, if the team playing "matters" then you are much better splitting up into individual cars and having 2 or 3 kids in a vehicle instead of everyone in one vehicle.

Its just minor hockey, so if they game doesn't get played, so be it. But, if it were to matter, then spreading out matters.
Taking a bus would be great. Less stress for parents who don’t like to drive. Also with both parents often having to work could take a laptop on bus for anything they need to catch up on. The kids feel more like a team then just spending the hour before games together. And the big plus….
It would hopefully keep the loudmouth parents in check knowing they got to ride a bus home with other parents after acting like an ahole at a game.

Our team did this. It was great all the kids and parents walking in to an opposing teams arena as one.

Now my sons team show up whenever, everyone complaining about having to drive.

Funny you mention that because my son’s team had a bus for one of our tournaments too. There was this one family who thought their son was the star, and they never took the bus with the rest of us. I guess the dad felt like he was too good for it. Their son missed out on all the team bonding moments, though, and it was sad to see him always on the outside.

Bus should be the mode of travel for all weekend games. Parents are optional. Most team budgets can easily handle it.

Our team in Toronto still does this. It takes the bus driver about 3 hours just to pick everyone up, it’s expensive on the budget but totally worth it. They even have screens and the boys watch movies and play Fortnite before the game. Gives me a chance to catch up with the other dad’s too before game time and have a couple beers since we aren’t driving.
