Easton Cowan: Future Superstar or Flash in the Pan?
52 games. That's how long Easton Cowan's point streak has lasted. He's closing in on Doug Gilmour's record, and it's got me thinking: are we witnessing the birth of an OHL legend? He's already an OHL MVP and a Toronto Maple Leafs first-round pick, but this streak is something else entirely.
Is this sustainable? Will he break Gilmour's record? More importantly, does a point streak in junior hockey really translate to NHL success? We've seen plenty of junior stars fizzle out in the pros.
What are your thoughts on Cowan's potential? Is he the real deal, or are we getting ahead of ourselves? Let's hear your predictions for his future in the OHL and beyond. Is he a future NHL star, or just a dominant junior player? I'm particularly interested to hear from those who've watched him play – what stands out about his game? Where do you see his ceiling?
