Is the OHL Losing its Shine? A Decline in Media Coverage and What it Means for the Future of Junior Hockey
I stumbled across something interesting, or rather, the lack thereof. Trying to find some recent OHL news on CTV London’s website and came up empty. This got me thinking, are we seeing a decline in media coverage of the OHL? Is this a sign of waning interest in junior hockey, or is it just a shift in how media outlets prioritize their sports coverage?
What are your thoughts? Have you noticed less OHL news in your local media?
I’m going to go out on a limb here and predict that if this trend continues, we’ll see a significant impact on player development and scouting. Less media attention means less exposure for these young athletes, potentially impacting their chances of moving up to the professional level.
Furthermore, could this lack of coverage also lead to lower attendance at OHL games? Is the league at risk of losing its relevance?
I'd love to hear from players, parents, coaches, and fans alike. What are your experiences? Are we overreacting, or is this a legitimate concern for the future of the OHL and junior hockey as a whole? Let's discuss.
