Kingston edging out Barrie in a high-scoring affair raises some interesting questions about the Eastern Conference playoff race. Kingston is now just a single point out of first, are they a legitimate threat to Brantford and Oshawa? Or will their relatively weaker goal differential ultimately hold them back? I predict Kingston sneaks into first place before the end of the season, but ultimately falls short in the playoffs. What do you think? Is this the year Kingston finally puts it all together, or are they destined for another early exit?
This game also highlighted the offensive firepower in the OHL this year. Seeing a final score of 6-4 isn't uncommon. Is this a trend we can expect to continue, or will things tighten up defensively come playoff time? I think the high scoring games are here to stay. The skill level in the OHL is just too high for teams to completely shut down the opposition.
Finally, lets talk about goaltending. Allowing 4 goals on only 17 shots doesn't inspire confidence. Are we seeing a league-wide issue with goaltending depth, or are these just isolated incidents? What are your thoughts on the state of goaltending in the OHL this season?
