I’ve been a hockey mom for years, and let me tell you…I’ve learned a lot.
I used to be that super mom, organizing holiday parties, coach gifts, end of season events, fundraisers… you name it. And if you think doing all that will get your kid more ice time, a letter on his jersey, or even a little extra respect, think again.
It got my son absolutely nowhere. No extra ice time, no "C" or "A," benched, cut, you name it.
Lesson learned. Now I don’t do a thing for the team. I don’t even cheer when a teammate scores.
