Instead of being so sensitive, perhaps you can take the comments as advice rather than an attack. Like, hey, if my kid hasn't been invited to a given team, maybe I shouldn't waste any time or money on a useless tryout and instead, put that money towards something that will have a positive impact. Nobody is chirping your kid, it's just a lot of you don't understand how things actually work and where your kid truly fits inNobody21 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2023 8:40 amTo the 3 “super dads” on here.. do you feel better about yourself after you passive aggressively chirp other people’s children? Because it’s giving “insecure”

The message reads “no one of significance”.. so you have essentially told 95% of the parents on here that their child insignificant?Guest wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2023 9:23 amInstead of being so sensitive, perhaps you can take the comments as advice rather than an attack. Perhaps a definition would be beneficial for you..
Insignificant - too small or unimportant to be worth consideration
The people who act like jerks on here are the ones who kids end up “falling off”. It’s a fact.. wait on it

Just wait a few years when the strong pimp hand of reality lays its goon hand down and slaps 80-90% of the stars to the sidelines.
If there are any doubters out there, while you are standing in the lobby take a look at the team photos from past years, and follow that team all the way through their minor hockey lifecycle. See how many kids come and go, how many kids grow or don't grow, how many Minor Atom superstars who could raise the puck early will fade into 3rd line dump and chase players by Bantam.
Each year OHL teams draft around 15 players just like the year before and the year after. Now not all those kids will even come close to making an OHL team, and that is alright. You are left with 3-4 who are fighting for spots each year and don't forget the 3-4 from the year before, and the free agents, and the kids they traded for, and the US kids who said they were not coming but showed up, and then the 2 Euros drop by and don't forget the 1st rounder from 2 yrs ago needs more ice time....and on and on. The GOJHL, the OJHL and even the PHJL is filled with these kids....and the vast majority of them are really good kids and that is really the end goal of the experience.
Enjoy the journey ....it goes by quick and most of all be cordial to the people on the way up because you will very likely see them on the way down.

Re: Alliance 2012 Hockey
true but if someone does that then they should not whine when people revel in their public downfall
Re: Alliance 2012 Hockey
There's a lot of jerk offs that deserve it and most parents quietly thinking the same thing just don't have big enough balls to say it themselves. Sounds like you're a sour coach where someone tried to hold you accountable and you publicly want to shame them for having an opinion different than yours. There are enough crazy parents who go after coaches, but there are crazy coaches that shouldn't be coaching.JackMeHoff wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 1:59 pm true but if someone does that then they should not whine when people revel in their public downfall
Let's face it, in AAA hockey parents smile to yours or other parents faces and knife them when they turn around. I see how it goes, we want to win, my kids the best, your kid needs to not fk up and at the end of the day we're here for my kids path who gives a shit about yours.
Get a great coach, surround yourself with good, honest, ethical people, create a development program with a great culture where people/parents buy in and watch the magic.

Fathers will wonder why their kid is not on the PP
At least 3 players will cry every game
A very high chance people will say "the ref is brutal"
