Anyone surprised by the standings? Are teams kind of where they are supposed to be? Who is overachieving and underachieving?
I say SYB is underperforming sitting in 8th place. Flames and Islanders a bit better than people expected?

It's a bit surprising how well TR is doing given they lost some top end talent at the end of last season. NT remains solid from last year. Leaside has most of their Ws against the bottom 3 teams before the break. The back part of the season should be more challenging and really telling.

Is TRT a strong team over all if they take away the one centre?

Do they even have another center? He plays pretty well the whole game.

Last year, everyone thought SYB was going to be great. They weren't.
Start of this year, more chat about how they were gonna be great this year. They aren't.
Nice jackets though.
Coaches seem sus.

That kid is a great player and super nice kid. They do seem to double shift him more than any other team double shifts kids but the team has lots of good players, but C1 and D1 are elite. They only really lost one good player to AAA last year. Very good team. Will compete for East title.

The league is really stratified this year into three clear tiers.

EE, TR, NT - All extremely good, consistent teams. Playing high end hockey. All three teams over 5 GFA and less than 2 GAA. The only teams with either, let alone both.
Leaside, Islanders, Knights, Westhill, Bruins - Very similar teams as far as production but vastly different styles. They could all beat each other at any time but unlikely they beat the top 3 teams. All teams between 2 and 4 GFA and GAA
SIR, TA - These teams are not good. SIR has a couple good players. But they seem to be trying hard every game. Someone has to be at the bottom, scores are better than last year, but unlikely these teams beat anyone other than each other (or Leaside). Both teams below 1 GFA (ooof) and above 5 GAA.

Given all of that, Islanders are probably biggest surprise/success of the season compared to expectations.
Pretty fun season and fun league in general.
