Yes they are definitely going big - Hughes, Makar, Fox, Hutson etc! Lol

There are certainly smaller D however the average height of a NHL D is 6 feet 2 inches tall.

You also named small D with above average IQ.
Unfortunately they are rare.
The G has very few with excellent IQ.
