From players that we picked up, we know nobody from TRW or MS went to MNS. They might not have a single AAA player, unless they are all from OMHA.

Some of these parents who's "AAA" kids are coming down are going to suffer a shock when their little Gretzky doesn't immediately become the superstar at AA.

Kids will move up and down every year, some will need to play HL due to the demand of their other rep sports they may be on too. I am quickly finding out there are not enough days in the week for my kid to play rep everything.

We can talk about what we know for sure

Last year, the lowest GAA was MNS followed by VP

Neither team had strong goaltending, maybe even call it weak

Their defense was the best, take your pick

The only other team with a very good GAA was MB Unlike the top two this was courtesy of their excellent goalie

Offense matters but you can have good offense (TE, ST) with bad defense and the results will show

If MNS and VP kept their defensive core and MB and FT didnt improve there because they focused on 'scoring' then the results

Will be the same!

MB parents need to get off the high horse.
Best offense, best defence, best goalie, best coach yet couldn't make it out of the first round.

Yes, they have to take responsibility for that.

But this playoff format is very unfair to teams that had a great regular season.

It leaves your advancement in the hands of other, weaker teams who can have a breakthrough game or two against somebody and bump you out. This should be a 1-8 format like all serious sports.

This is not necessarily true. Take FT who had two strong F scoring the majority of their goals. They will go from two to five or six and regardless of how strong your defence is that's very challenging to manage for a full three periods. The defence will have their work cut out for them. Even VP and MNS didn't have sufficient defensive depth last year to survive three lines of forwards, each of which this time around will have two star scorers. And on top of that the word is that both VP and MNS lost defence kids to AAA.

It also shows that both FT and MB coaches are aware of the need to boost their offense in order to take over VP and MNS in the standings.
