Wolverines look really bad at the Aeros tournament. Seems to be some parent arguments in the stands too. Anyone know if they are imploding next year? I'm considering going there next year buy having second thoughts.

Wolverines are done. Terrible performance at the aeros tourney, lost all 4 games and signs of a team falling apart. Talking to some of the parents and no one is committing for next year.

Actually, we tied one game lol.

The truth is there is some uncertainty around the team because the goal is to get better and move up the standings. This means that commitments have not been made to many players as changes need to be made in order to move up. Many parents haven't been offered spots yet, so if you speak to some of them yes they are not sure what they are doing next year.

It was a very poor showing on the weekend and all the parents, players and staff were very disappointed. That part is true. It seemed like we could not recover from our horrible last playoff game and everyone was checked out. None of us really know why but it happened. This dampened spirits on the team for the weekend but I am fairly sure as a whole our parents behave better than most.

Despite this weekend, the season was a huge success. Our mostly A team had a perfect regular season record vs the bottom seven teams (except one tie vs Toros) and we won 3 of 4 games vs Terriers. But, we couldn't touch the top 5. So, on the season we essentially ended 6th out of 14 AA teams in the hardest division in Ontario. There is lots to be proud of.

That doesn't excuse the weekend performance but I think the players were emotionally exhausted from the playoffs and somehow we just didn't have it. We didn't play anywhere close to how we can and our group knows that's not how we normally play. We still had almost everyone there for practice Sunday morning and the kids had lots of fun. Hardly a sign of a team imploding.

To the person who came out to watch, thanks for coming. Sorry we offered up such a poor showing. Have you actually been offered a spot? My interpretation is that not many are on offer as of yet.

No clue who posted that Wolverines report but there is a red flag if I ever saw one. Hi coach? The goal should be to have a solid development plan, and not react to every result. Sounds like they think they're an NHL team, it'll hurt them in the long run I think. I only say that because I've seen it before, and it can quickly become an unfun environment for players and parents. Seems stressful for no reason.

They had a good season, obviously the group progressed. Why not continue to build on that and make the usual 3-4 changes that happen.

There are many stresses that might not be necessary in minor hockey. It's hard to balance keeping families together especially as player development is unpredictable. Some players progress well and some do not. If a player is not keeping up then it makes sense for them to find another team that is a better fit for them. It can become personal sometimes but it's for the best.

It is stressful for everyone when this happens and it is hard to navigate no matter how it is approached.
