High Level AA? Nice.. Considering 1/2 the AAA kids aren't high level, not sure where AA registers.

People should just enjoy the ride at this level & below and make friends/buddies because there's no need to stress out. Most of these kids won't amount to much hockey-wise, and that's ok.. play as high as you can, make friends and enjoy the game. Heck, most AAA kids should have that same approach, but with added practices and focus.

This was an amazingly quiet thread for a long time, it's a shame that ended.

Who are the best coaches in this league and who are the worst ones?

Just stay away from the parent coaches, parent managers and parents behind the bench and on the ice during practices.

That’s all of AA in general tho.

parents run the show even if coach is paid.

Disagree. there are good and bad parent coaches just like everything. some are morons and put their kid on a pedestal and some are down to earth and treat their kid like every other player.

I've seen good and bad paid coaches. Some actually care about the kids, some are just there for the paycheck and miss 30% of practices and games.

Do your research first.

People who don’t like him generally fall into two camps - (1) he’s cut your kid and was brutally honest about why (maybe the reason was you?) or (2) he’s told you something you didn’t want to hear ie. your kid isn’t that good.. maybe both? Either way, it’s clear you have a beef with him but that has nothing to do with the quality of team he’s put together. gtc like a couple other clubs much improved vs previous season and will be a contender for top spot. Let’s reconvene in 6 months and see how it plays out.
