Saw West Hill won their first U10 Gthl game in 3 years…

Congrats to the east end ticats on winning the Kitchener Rangers Octoberfest tournament!!! They battled 12 top teams across southern Ontario (and the Soo greyhounds!) to capture their second tournament title of this young season.

Almost like this team shouldn’t be in AA. But hey I bet the kids develop just fine with no real competition. That’s how it works right?

Tons of competition this weekend! Lots of great teams across Ontario.

EE could beat some lower end AAA for sure. They don't play system hockey though and really rely on a couple good kids (tiny and fast) that tend to cherry pick or go end to end. It works at this age group at the AA and A level but it won't take them far as complete hockey player or at AAA.

First, it is funny/crazy that you think you know how EE plays when we are in the first few games of league play. Secondly, EE wouldn't be beating the top team in the province if they weren't playing some systems. Thirdly do you really think the kids are not capable of learning new systems in a few years when they are required to win.

The coach follows hockey Canada recommendations on what should be taught and how much time should be spent on each type of skill. Some coaches think they are smarter than hockey Canada unfortunately, because of it kids long term development suffers.
