2015 AA
Re: 2015 AA
If your kid sucks, my kid is going to take his spot.
We either stay in KSL, or we play up a year. Not going to plus U9MD half ice garbage.

I did this with my son this year, and it was 1000% the right decision. He's thrived playing a big role for his team. If your kid will be better than half the AA players, absolutely go this route.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 2:18 pm If your kid sucks, my kid is going to take his spot.

Re: 2015 AA
He's very good, and big for his age. Not that size matters at this age, but its not as if hes tiny and im worried about injuries. I will take him to AAA for tryout as well, but I am far less confident in him making those teams a year up. I watched a U10 game between two AAA centres this year, supporting my neighbors kid. He is better than a bunch of kids on that Ice in my biased dad's opinion. But, I wouldn't want him playing a year up and being the last man on the bench. So AA I would assume he would be one of the best players on most teams.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 2:33 pmI did this with my son this year, and it was 1000% the right decision. Re: 2015 AA
Couldnt you save money and win some trophy’s in U9
Could also just do private / clinics / power skating

Re: 2015 AA
Sounds like a very similar situation to mine last year. Another benefit to playing a year up AA has been taking less penalties for kids running into him and falling down. Sounds like your son will develop really well going this route. And regarding cost, it’s maybe a little more than you would pay for playing u9. Depends on the team though.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 2:46 pmHe's very good, and big for his age. Not that size matters at this age, but its not as if hes tiny and im worried about injuries. Re: 2015 AA
I'm not holding my kid back by sending him to half ice after playing full ice effectively for the last two years. Common, thats just non-sense.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 5:48 pm Couldnt you save money and win some trophy’s in U9

U7 shouldn't be half ice
U8 should absolutely not be half ice
U9 is RIDICULOUS if its half ice, have you seen the size of some of the kids? My kid isn't a giant, but hes probably top 4 biggest kid on most teams. I am not even convinced he would EVER get more than two or three full strides before hes on top of the other goalie if he played half ice.
You idiots paying for this non-sense, if your kid is pretty good, are idiots.
So, like I said - we play U9 KSL or we play U10AA those are the two options being weighed out.
