Don't underestimate how bad some other OMHA teams will be. I would put money on the field over Waxers as being the worst.
But will they be TRW bad? lol

You can't say all these good players are leaving for the G and then claim the leagues are the same. That's dumb.
WW and QRD will be competitive with top 3 GTHL teams. Some of the top OMHA kids leave for the GTHL in U15/U16 to increase exposure but there is no reason to hop leagues in U10. There is great development all over the province. Being able to book morning ice under $100 on demand is definitely an advantage in our area. We pay $20-$50 an hour for development sessions with 8 kids or less. I hear about Toronto skates for $50 with over 20 skaters. That is garbage!
Ya its depends. Those $50 20 kids skates are usually trash. We do a small group, cost off instructor is $150 + ice. So ends up being $50-75. Would rather pay that for someone that is good than do the big garbage skates. Hard part is finding a top end instructor in Toronto, they are hard to get on the ice with. Lots of really mid options, but once you find a good coach, it’s the best solution.

TM
VK
JRC

Middle pack should have these teams in order.

TT
Nats

Fill in the rest with bottom team set.

Rebels
I wondering if this is the year where the first place team can lose or tie vs other top 5 teams once in a while. Is the G actually somewhat balanced for a change?

No crazy drive to games (Quinte, Barrie)., Although it is 3/4 k more expensive, but think about the time saved. Also when you play GTHL you can explore 12 teams technically. But when you play OMHA, in case the team is toxic or have any problem, you will struggle.
If you play for a top 6 team great. But if your paying 7k more for a bottom team in the G getting blown out it makes no sense in my opinion. There are a lot of weak teams in the G for the upcoming season. The comments about a toxic team does not matter either way. You will not be switching teams half way through the season and you could go to another team the following year from anywhere with open borders. Some people are 10 mins from their OMHA rink for practices, you will also have home games which would also be so close. How often will you actually play Quinte, Barrie and Kingston in away games. Parents will make a decision based on many factors but playing on any of those 4-5 bottom teams in the G and paying more and driving more to do it is just silly.

Looks like you didn’t have your morning coffee yet and still half asleep. Let me break it down for you. WW will beat your top 5 G teams any day of the week. With open borders you will see stronger teams in OMHA. If someone drives 1 hr or 2 hours that’s their choice although completely unnecessary at this age.
That's one team who will have trouble finding any good games in the OMHA. Top kids will be lured by the jerseys in the G, nobody cares about Whitby.
