Do paid minor hockey coaches get fired/removed if the team is not performing well? Just like the nHL and OHL coaches, I know in the Alliance it never happens unless it’s a legal issue.
If not should this happen to a coach if the team doesn’t improve/perform or show progress?

100% they should be fired. It is a job and if the results aren’t there then the coach should be fired.
Teams in the G spend anywhere from 10k to 100k for coaches, so if the coach is not doing their job they got to go

How does a team find a new coach to step in mid-season?
That's not easy, but if you're making that kind of move then you better have a replacement ready to go. Maybe it's a parent who has experience, or you've already found another paid coach.

10k …. I wouldn’t get off the couch for less than 25k
That would or should be part of the boards job to have coaches to temporarily step in who can be put in this situation.
This would require a board that is progressive and no favouritism.

Look into the Kington Jr. Gaels U13, 14, 15, 16 & 18 squads. Shameful to say the least & they keep bringing back the U14 coach. Just embarrassing, not sure why the parents put up with this mess as they're spending a lot of money to watch their kid!

Like any paid position, if you are not performing, termination of employment should always be an option. You better believe that if my kid is on a team where the coach is being paid say $15k and they are not performing, we are going to have a problem. I would bet the association is not forking out the money in good faith and my fees are probably going up $500 or more to help cover the new cost. Paid coaching should only be a thing at the AAA level anyway. Is anyone aware of paid coaches at the single A/AA level?

Yes, the Board is ready to act in cases like this. Some of the Board members are the most progressive and valued coaches in minor hockey. Take a look at your Board and you will notice how many intelligent, progressive, diverse leaders there are.

Since minor hockey coaching should be primarily focused on individual player development, not team achievements or win/loss columns, what kpi’s would one use for evaluation purposes, and by who?
