Who wants to play in the G with all their money scams? Pathetic that they need to take it to that level because clearly their kid isn't good enough on their own ability. Check the Special Investigation report GTHL just posted with all the allegations. What a joke.

2 idiot posters don't realize the GTHL is made up with well over 50% OMHA players
Not even close to true and why do these players leave the omha the best of the best leave the omha to join the G yes.
The G isn't better. Only the top few teams in each loop are good. The bottom teams are really bad. In the OMHA, competition is closer.
Not one OMHA team is ranked in the top 3 in any age group. OMHA is AA.
The 2015 WW say hello.
Does top 3 in North America count?

2015 isn't even real hockey yet so no, it doesn't.

2015 WW also play in a weak OMHA league. The one time they played the Marlies they got pumped 4-2.

Soooo ya, not good.

Classic excuse when your kid isn't good enough to make the G

Guest wrote: Wed Apr 09, 2025 3:22 pm Why is the gthl always so much stronger? Way less participants in the city where most demographics don’t even play or afford hockey. Overall less population then omha as well but top omha teams can only compete with mid to bottom gthl at all levels. Few years back our AA West team top 4 team in the west was able to beat 4 AAA omha teams.

Is the development in the gthl just that much better or are European imagrants just that much better at hockey compared to Canadians.
Dumbest post Ive seen. You are probably just trying to justify that your AA gthl kid could actually make AAA in omha. Take a look at any OHL draft - the top around are barely 50% gthl kids, and alot of those gthl kids moved over for U15. Clearly kids develop just as good in omha/alliance - a great athlete doesnt need to move. And my kids omha aaa team crushed all the bottom 4 gthl teams by 10+ goals - those teams were absolute jokes.

That list only shows that the top 3 U15 gthl teams are good because all the top players go there for that season. The rest of the gthl aaa teams would be middle/lower pack omha teams. Also by U15, parents are willing to commute and bring their top omha/alliance kid to the gthl for exposure. But before that its not overly helpful. And development has little to do with it - the top 2-4 gthl teams are just a collection of top players who developed elsewhere and then joined together just before the ohl draft year.

If gthl really had better overall development and competition - their bottom 5 teams wouldnt constantly be ranked at the bottom of the entire province in every age group.

2015 WW crushed every other gthl team this year. Along with beating the Marlies later in the year. Other than JRC, DMF, and Marlies - the top half omha teams pumped the rest of the bottom feeder gthl teams. Likely why their coaches r begging omha boys to join - they couldnt develop their own duds.

Marlies only claim to fame all year was beating the WW early in the season…
OMHA parent here, 2 teams our boys were genuinely scared of WW and JRC.

I also agree GTHL is stronger but not by much. Also purely on population Gthl should be better
