Hard working kid that deserves this!!!
He's a good player but how does a team draft a kid who has never played AAA?
Beating the odds. Caught someone's attention to take a chance on him. Can't bash him for that.
Not bashing. I like the kid.
Just don't understand how a kid who hasn't played against the best players gets drafted? I know he works hard, but he doesn't play on a stacked team.

He was a no brainer pick. The kid has much better skating than a majority of AAA.

For this draft class the rules were broken. It was so weak that they needed more options and this kid was the gem in the rough. VP is also an exception as they win every year. That team could’ve went to AAA and would’ve been competitive.

AA 2009 = Select Tier 3 from generation before Covid.

VP AA 2009 was the one exception.

Tier 3 is being very generous. This 2009 group is probably tier 4

From what I heard, everyone is very happy and congratulated him. It was a team effort getting him drafted from the coaching staff to his teammates. Their culture is about the name on the front, not on the back. They only keep players and parents who have the same mindset.

It caught me off guard, I really suspected W from TA 2009 AA to be the sole AA pick. Those were the rumours. Still has a chance at getting signed in the free agency from what I’m hearing in the pipeline.

Meanwhile, it’s 4 a.m. and I’m already up, starting my day with a jog, hitting the gym, then getting on the ice. I’ll throw back a couple protein shakes and head to school. It’s not easy, but that’s the grind it takes if you really want to make AAA and eventually, the show.
You're delusional buddy. Everyone who makes it to the show was born with an unique natural talent and was the best in their age group and potentially the age group up by the time they started playing hockey. Your 2 protein shakes and morning run might help you if you already have the natural talent, but realistically you're just burning yourself out. Enjoy your childhood mate and give up the dream.
this didn't age well

Give me a break. He didn't know he was getting drafted until today, and that was even a long shot. The "team" worked on him getting drafted?

I can imagine one jersey mom who is not happy.
