Maybe? Every individual will have their own needs/wants.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Dec 25, 2024 8:45 pm Any KSL teams gonna go to YSE? Hear it’s North Saints tier 2 team any kids from tier 1 teams?
I am sure there will be a mix of T1 and T2 Saints plus other kids at YSE. The coach they picked should really start recruiting if he wants to have any chance to do well next year.
Re: 2016 MD OMHA
YSE usually has a strong team and there are kids from tier 1 teams planning to go there.

Yeah, usually.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2024 4:36 pm YSE usually has a strong team and there are kids from tier 1 teams planning to go there.
Usually there isn't open borders. There are a lot of kids being swayed to go to G teams right now as we speak. This isn't just "The kids I own will come to me" any more. If the coach isn't out there talking to families of the top kids with a list in his hand of whos available - hes toast.
Re: 2016 MD OMHA
Some parents will prefer to be 10 mins away from the practice arena during weekdays and that may factor it. But yes, if coaches are not out there scouting and recruiting it will spell trouble. But this is a tricky situation. A lot of KSL families have interest in YSE and although the G coaches may be trying to do their own scouting it may not really be what people observe at the moment. YSE will end up being a strong team.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 7:59 amYeah, usually.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2024 4:36 pm YSE usually has a strong team and there are kids from tier 1 teams planning to go there.

I assume YSE will be fine. But, I know personally 4 or 5 kids that would likely make up the top half of YSE next year and they are all doing G skates and are being sold cheap fees or practices being moved for them, etc.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 8:22 amSome parents will prefer to be 10 mins away from the practice arena during weekdays and that may factor it. who knows what actually happens, but that is the down side to not having a coach that was part of U9 this year. They won't know the kids or the families that are all over ontario right now playing in different spots.
Its not like years past where you could scope out Newmarket, Aurora, Richmond Hill, Georgina, etc. This guy has no friggin clue that some of the better players in the area are playing in Barrie, Toronto and Whitby area right now.
Re: 2016 MD OMHA
If they are playing in Barrie/Toronto/Whitby then clearly they have no interest in playing locally. If they are top talent in the age group they will not play YSE historically and I don't see how open borders changes that, it just makes it easier to leave. Most people prefer the G loop to the OMHA.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 10:44 amI assume YSE will be fine.
