Sure bud. If you know, you know. If you don't, start looking at AA and A coaches.

Re: 2016 MD OMHA
I haven't heard anything on Waxers either.
As expected with OMHA, some teams are ahead of the curve, with coaches picked and the coaches are out there talking to people. And some OMHA teams are playing by the rules and the coaches aren't out there talking to anyone yet, but they generally have assistants or "others" talking on their behalf.
Most teams people know who is "most likely" to get the job, and those coaches are already forming an unofficial core before the team tells them they even have the team.
Re: 2016 MD OMHA
yup, it is what it is. There will be teams that do it no matter what, and therefore the teams that don't want to do it - will fall behind quickly if they don't.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 9:49 amI haven't heard anything on Waxers either.

Coaches are recruiters now, just like the GTHL has been for a while. OMHA / OHF / Hockey Canada / GTHL can't govern it, because they can't stop it all - its physically impossible. The teams that get caught are just going to say "Look, if I don't do it, then my team isn't competitive, why haven't you investigated and caught everyone else that we know is doing it"
Re: 2016 MD OMHA
How strong is Waxers expected to be? They usually get some of the stronger players from Stouffville but now with open borders those kids can go APR which would not be too far. Will be interesting to see.

With GTHL being an option for everyone, I'd think the Markham teams get hit the worst. They might end up being the weakest team in the OMHA AAA loop. The best players will try for YSE or GTHL teams. The next left down will goto A/P or GTHL. The remaining will goto Markham Majors who wont be strong either.. The last group of kids, likely A and AA caliber will go to the Waxers.
Re: 2016 MD OMHA
Markham should not have 2 hockey teams. The Waxers should not exist. It’s a joke why they have two teams. There are too many options close by for them to have two teams. OMHA wants to reduce AAA so get rid of the Waxers at AAA
Re: 2016 MD OMHA
Absolutely, idiots trying to get rid of COW in the middle of no where with no teams really in their vicinity. But are totally fine with Markham stinking.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 4:18 pm Markham should not have 2 hockey teams. The Waxers should not exist. It’s a joke why they have two teams. With open borders expect some of the stronger players in Markham and Stouffville to go to YSE.
