Top teams:

WW - full YK roster
YSE - mix of cobras and NS. Most of NS going YSE from tier 1
APR - Junior wings and WW MD
QRD - YK East and a few players coming back down from AAA
Kingston

Rest will be weak.

NS kids a bunch to go with coach to the TRW. WW will be YK. truly doubt that many MD kids will make many teams.

From NS some are going TRW but some are not. Some are going YSE. There are rumours of Cobras going YSE to play with open borders so YSE should be strong.

There are more than three kids on the cobras that are from Newmarket/Aurora - so it makes sense for them.
I've heard more and more chatter about T1 NS going to YSE and NOT TRW (sounds more like a split)
and there are 3 or 4 NS T2 that are easily AAA players to round out your team.

YSE should be good.

My kid is in KSL, any MD kids out there that could push for a spot?

I've seen a few teams play because my neighbors kid plays for Newmarket MD. I've watch King, I've watch Bradford and I've watch Aurora.

There is 1 kid on Newmarket worth a look, no one except the goalie on Bradford, no one except the goalie on King, and Aurora has one skater worth a look.

But everything I keep reading is NS T1 and T2 Goalies are among the best goalies in the area, so assuming thats true, I don't know if there is a spot? People keep saying T1 team going to the G, so maybe that leaves a spot?

From what i've seen, some of the top MD kids are just as good as KSL tier 2 kids - there are too many teams in the KSL now which has diluted the skill level. The biggest difference i've seen between MD and KSL tier 2 kids are their hockey IQ and aggressiveness, not necessarily the skill level.

Yeah, maybe... but even within T2 there is a HUGE difference between bottom of T2 where I would say you are right about talent levels being similar and the differentiation being style of play and aggressiveness. Versus the top of T2 which are basically T1 teams that happened to take a full roster, which bumped them to T2 because the bottom 5 or 6 kids aren't great.

hence why you see so many Top T2 teams beating or competing with Bottom/Mid Range T1 teams.

A lot of teams are T1 in both 2016 and 2017 age groups right now ONLY because they took a small roster. There are a bunch of teams that just aren't that good, but they run out solid players shift after shift when the T2 teams typically have two lines of solid players and then a third line of weaker players.

Makes a big difference.

I’ve only seen a handful of good MD kids compared to KSL other than those on Nats or VR. There is a huge gap and if you think otherwise you are not looking at T1 or some of the stronger tier 2 KSL players. There is no comparison.
