OHL Draft
Re: OHL Draft
No. Typically once drafted, u18 is beneath your level. If, for some reason, you want a spot then you reach out before tryouts and will be offered a spot based on draft ranking.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 7:32 am Do the u16 AAA that were drafted still tryout for U18AAA ?

One is a very high pick who is trying out and the other is a 200 pick who is not.
Re: OHL Draft
Typically if you’re small or young you need a year of u18 under before ohl will look at you , or Jr only if you will be in jr and play not on bench watching ! Development growth are important ! If you’re a top prospect you already have a u18 team and a top one so you probably will be handed a spot or have already ! Apr or MW or NS or Jr .Guest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 7:52 amThanksGuest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 7:39 amNo. Typically once drafted, u18 is beneath your level. Re: OHL Draft
Most of the draft will play U18. Some won't make U18 teams.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 7:39 amNo. Typically once drafted, u18 is beneath your level. Only 10-20 kids will sign in the O this year, usually from the top 3 rounds.
Anther 20-40 kids will make Jr. teams (limits 2 09 per team)
That leaves most kids looking at U18 if they don't go prep or to the US.
Re: OHL Draft
You live in a fantasy world. A 5'5" scrawny forward with short parents was drafted. He played on a last place ghtl team and still managed to score no goals and like 4 assists - as a forward that your main job. That kid has no potential to grow and cant even light up U16. If you dont believe money/favours were exchanged for joke picks like that, go watch one of those kids play and youll see for yourself.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 3:57 pmThere is no paying for players to be drafted, you’re spreading false information and it’s obvious you’ve never been through the CHL as a former player, or worked on the CHL in any type of position. Ask myself or anyone else who is associated with any CHL front office, that isn’t happening. Players will be bribed with money to play for a certain team, but that’s a totally different story. Absolutely ridiculous and embarrassing you’d even suggest money is exchanged for a player to be drafted. Get your facts straight before you post.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 11:41 amAfter chatting with a few scouts - It's been widely known that this year's draft was on the weaker side overall. Plenty of people ended up with a slice of the pie. Ton of $ exchanged for 10th Rd & below draft selection. All for bragging rights I guess. I would rather a nice trip for 7-15K
Re: OHL Draft
$150k will do it. Kids brutal and won’t touch the ice for a U18 team let alone OHLGuest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 10:05 amYou live in a fantasy world. Re: OHL Draft
So many daddy favours but that’s all they are, I mean most earned spot but when you see a kid the is 5.5, 5.6 god even 5.7 no points , even with points you know they probably won’t ever even make jR , have your two min of fame they won’t even be invited back to OHL camp next year lolGuest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 10:42 am$150k will do it.
