Absolutely agree. But nonetheless, if you weren't top 2 rounds and in some cases top 3 then you are irrelevant for now. Go away and play Jr fighting for ice. If your player isn't in the league next season they will never be a top player.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 7:25 am The players listed above, along with a handful of others that clearly should've been drafted were obviously torched by their coaches when GMs called.
OHL Draft

You think Russian kid have only 3 apples whole year? No, he did not. You think first round picks from Reps points is correct? No, is not. Coach from Reps, did not care about small stupid things like fixing points.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Apr 18, 2025 1:00 pmHere is the problem with your argument, there were kids with all three of these attributes that got drafted like BL 93 from the Red Wings, it’s get over looked. There were kids like the 3 from the reps that didn’t put up as many points, that got picked. The sheer fact that one small label such as above defined a kid to not get drafted is pure nonsense. If you were to match up their profiles vs some of the obvious “favourite picks” you would see a huge difference in ability at the next level.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Apr 18, 2025 10:34 amJB VK bad attitudeGuest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 2:00 pmNo Jesse B from VKGuest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 1:34 pmkids like the Russian drafted in the 8th round from Reps, 3 apples all year, there were tons of these kids.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 10:05 amYou live in a fantasy world. A 5'5" scrawny forward with short parents was drafted. He played on a last place ghtl team and still managed to score no goals and like 4 assists - as a forward that your main job. That kid has no potential to grow and cant even light up U16. If you dont believe money/favours were exchanged for joke picks like that, go watch one of those kids play and youll see for yourself.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 3:57 pm
There is no paying for players to be drafted, you’re spreading false information and it’s obvious you’ve never been through the CHL as a former player, or worked on the CHL in any type of position. Ask myself or anyone else who is associated with any CHL front office, that isn’t happening. Players will be bribed with money to play for a certain team, but that’s a totally different story. Absolutely ridiculous and embarrassing you’d even suggest money is exchanged for a player to be drafted. Get your facts straight before you post.
No James B from Oak
No Alex D from Marlboros
I guess all these kids didn't have points had zero IQ, skating, leadership etc.
JB OV zero compete
AD TM Zero hockey IQ and shot
Reps picks tell you two thing. One — scouts don’t care about these super teams with kids points way up. Only crazy parents care. Two — if you dont see potential in 3 Reps players, this why you sit behind computer and not GM in OHL.

Re: OHL Draft
Do you expect the coaches to lie to the scouts? Why would a scout draft a kid with a bad attitude? This is why it is important to raise your sons well and not play the victim. A coach can really help or hinder your son getting drafted. If they have those “labels” as one of their dad’s put it… well they earned it at some point.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 9:36 amAbsolutely agree. There are a lot of great players that will come from the late rounds. It is about who works harder. A lot of 1st rounders will go far, but a lot will fall off, start partying and they themselves will have this “label”
The focused ones, with a professional routine and serious nature to their improvement will go furthest and have the most success. This is what competing is. 80% of these kids will never play a game in front of 6000 fans. An even smaller percentage will be good in the OHL and maybe 1-3 kids will be first round picks in the NHL, at best! There is a long road ahead, just because you are a first rounder means nothing until you go to camp and prove yourself in a bigger and faster league.
Remember it now’s becomes competing vs the rest of the WORLD. It is so hard to make it and so many good players never get a sniff. Enjoy the ride and keep out of the bad situations and you will have the best shot

Definitely some pretenders in 1st 2 rounds. But the 5th round and later guys will be forgotten by team when the dust settles.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Apr 20, 2025 7:48 amtruthGuest wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 9:36 amAbsolutely agree. Coaches maybe don't lie, but they omit information about certain players. There are kids with terrible attitudes in the dressing room, which translates to the ice, and they never get punished like the some kids. They bully and create a toxic behavior in the dressing room, killing team morale, take stupid penalties in important games, and never held accountable. There are few good coaches out there, that really try to elevate kids, all of them, but the majority will just punish the ones they don't like, or the kids with parents who tried to hold them accountable. Most 16 year olds are pushing boundaries, but only the certain ones will be punished. Shame.
