There is no paying for players to be drafted, you’re spreading false information and it’s obvious you’ve never been through the CHL as a former player, or worked on the CHL in any type of position. You live in a fantasy world. A 5'5" scrawny forward with short parents was drafted. He played on a last place ghtl team and still managed to score no goals and like 4 assists - as a forward that your main job. That kid has no potential to grow and cant even light up U16. If you dont believe money/favours were exchanged for joke picks like that, go watch one of those kids play and youll see for yourself.

kids like the Russian drafted in the 8th round from Reps, 3 apples all year, there were tons of these kids.

No Jesse B from VK
No James B from Oak
No Alex D from Marlboros
I guess all these kids didn't have points had zero IQ, skating, leadership etc.

JB VK bad attitude
JB OV zero compete
AD TM Zero hockey IQ and shot

Here is the problem with your argument, there were kids with all three of these attributes that got drafted like BL 93 from the Red Wings, it’s get over looked. There were kids like the 3 from the reps that didn’t put up as many points, that got picked. The sheer fact that one small label such as above defined a kid to not get drafted is pure nonsense. If you were to match up their profiles vs some of the obvious “favourite picks” you would see a huge difference in ability at the next level.

Absolutely agree. But nonetheless, if you weren't top 2 rounds and in some cases top 3 then you are irrelevant for now. Go away and play Jr fighting for ice. If your player isn't in the league next season they will never be a top player.

Do you expect the coaches to lie to the scouts? Why would a scout draft a kid with a bad attitude? This is why it is important to raise your sons well and not play the victim. A coach can really help or hinder your son getting drafted. If they have those “labels” as one of their dad’s put it… well they earned it at some point.

Coaches maybe don't lie, but they omit information about certain players. There are kids with terrible attitudes in the dressing room, which translates to the ice, and they never get punished like the some kids. They bully and create a toxic behavior in the dressing room, killing team morale, take stupid penalties in important games, and never held accountable. There are few good coaches out there, that really try to elevate kids, all of them, but the majority will just punish the ones they don't like, or the kids with parents who tried to hold them accountable. Most 16 year olds are pushing boundaries, but only the certain ones will be punished. Shame.
