This will never happen. They will lose too many centres which generate money for the higher ups. NEVER HAPPEN
The last post will not age well.. its happening buckle up
No it’s not. Ever. And they would never announce it at this time of year anyway.
It’s happening at the AAA level, starting next season. It should be announced soon. Boards better pick good coaches if they want a winning team, people have had enough of the nepotism
Since you seem to know, is this an OHF amendment to the rules or is it at the lower levels like OMHA? Was it already voted on at an AGM or is it tabled for the future one or has it been sent out to associations?
Another post that will not age well, brace for impact.... might want to bubble wrap yourself. Open borders coming. The OP was bang on and look at the date he made the first post.
Organizations better start putting good coaches in place otherwise people will leave.

There aren't enough coaches in general. Most associations are stuck with who they have. That's the reality of it. Registrations and volunteers are down across the board.

Those that do coach put up with a lot of BS from players to parents to the association. In all honestly, you are lucky to have people volunteer. Are there bad coaches / bad people who volunteer? Obviously, but until others step up, you aren't getting anyone better.

If th OHF goes completely open borders, it essentially means a player can tryout/play in any minor hockey association they want -not restricted by residential address

I wish.... but can't see this happening... from what I'm reading they are just keeping everyone happy saying... ya we will look into it but don't count on it.

Where are you reading this? It's happening guaranteed. Hockey is the only ontario sport with restrictions. Times have changed you can't tell people what to do or how to spend their money. Those of you who think its not happening better get your head focused. If someone forced the new dressing room rules, residential restrictions is not a bridge too far.
