You’d be surprised. There are many such confused parents planning to drive over an hour to play in the G. They assume that the G will ensure their kid magically becomes a superstar.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 7:31 pmAnyone driving over an hour to play hockey needs some serious help.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 4:52 pm At the AA level, London announced they will not take any kids from outside the city except for Lambeth (which is in London city limits).
AAA is open, but I can't see a lot of parents driving over an hour for practices and games. It is not worth it.

No, they are driving to the g for better coaches, better competition and better kids to play with
Re: OHF Opening borders??
So do you really think that the G has all better coaches. Buddy you are so delusional. It seems you are one of those parents. I’m sure there are other centers on your 1.5 hour drive to the G.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2025 7:15 amGuest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 9:46 pmYou’d be surprised. This is true. This guy wouldn't have posted that his kid and his team would wipe floor with them - if he wasn't serious.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2025 9:06 amlol and my kid and his team would wipe the floor with all of them…Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2025 8:18 amSo do you really think that the G has all better coaches. Re: OHF Opening borders??
If you do leave and make a team from another city, does that mean you're blacklisted from ever re-joining your home city in future years?
Re: OHF Opening borders??
Why would you leave if you are ever concerned about going back?Guest wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 6:19 pm If you do leave and make a team from another city, does that mean you're blacklisted from ever re-joining your home city in future years?
Stick it out in your home organization until It gets better or your kid gets better.
Or leave in hopes of being on a better team and developing somewhere else.
You can’t have your cake and eat it at the same time.
Re: OHF Opening borders??
An organization that blacklists a kid for going somewhere else is the very reason why a kid should go somewhere else.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 8:24 pmWhy would you leave if you are ever concerned about going back?Guest wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 6:19 pm If you do leave and make a team from another city, does that mean you're blacklisted from ever re-joining your home city in future years?

It sounds like that organization isn't really in it for the kids at all. If they were, they'd be working diligently on solving the problems and making sure that players don't want to leave, not punishing them for highlighting the organization's problems.
