Rangers skate looked really good. Got some AA drops from the OMHA. It was fast and physical. This team will be top next year.
:lol: "Drop downs" never cuts eh? This team will be horrendous.
We’ve been to all the Rangers skates and will be completely honest here. First skate was mostly select kids, not very strong. But they now seem to be attracting higher caliber A & AA OMHA kids from bordering cities like Caledonia, King, and Richmond Hill. Looking to cross over into the GTHL. Engaged with several of these open border parents looking to cross over at the skate. Rangers will definitely look different next season. They’ll be more competitive which is great news for the west division.
What goes up must come down, and then goes back up again.VR potentially could be easily a top 2 team in this loop hands down, especially if their budget plus program is as highly super attractive as claimed.
Attractive it is. Heard from a reliable source that they’re going with one practice per week run by All Star Hockey. $3500 all in, incl. GTHL fee. Rangers get tonnes of Sponsorship and subsidized ice which helps keep costs down. Also hearing Panthers Budget north of $6000.
[/

Ok Rangers coach pumping his own tires. Ya that’s a great way to improve your team. Let’s practice less and the practice you hold is run by a skills guy who’ll be running them around cones for an hour. No thanks. Speaks volumes … this isn’t select hockey. At this level if you want to get better you’ve got to have a coach that can put some focus and time into actually teaching players how to play.
Thats a lot of money.
You can do a lot as a team with the additional 2K plus savings per family. Smart move by the “non parent” coach versus taking advantage of hard working families where coaches kids benefit$. Ice ice baby!

Ok Ranger parent. Another dismal season coming for you right around the corner. Enjoy.

No excuses then, when you happen to find yourself behind VR this time with your two so called “practices.” :lol:

$3500. That’s cheap. My kid needs to focus more on school and less on hockey at this age. One practice sounds appealing. Hearing that it’s a non-parent Coach as well which is a bonus. Anyone know when the next Rangers skate is?

Guess it all comes down to any team “extras” and the talent being drawn into both Ranger programs. Open Boarders can definitely be a game changer.

Seems teams are setting in, here's what I've gathered as I've now done the circuit of skates and speaking to coaches.

Eagles - surpisingly have a couple open spots

Avs - 1-2 open spots

Sharks - full

Attack - full

West Mall - need a goalie and D

Panthers - full

Rangers - not sure

Eagles = Average

Avs = rely on jersey cre$t to attract

Sharks = Respectable

Attack = barn burner

West Mall = waiting on 3rd line AA drops

Panthers = $$$$$$$$

Rangers = Affordable hockey
