After several weeks of listening to parents talk about where their kid is going to play and watching our executive hire recycled coaches who have historically accomplished nothing, the grind of tryouts starts today. Or is it really tryout?

Let's start with the exec, they have tried to put more lipstick on a pig but the ones putting on the lipstick are still around. We have an executive who hired themselves at U14 & at U15 they hired their own son who has little to NO Head Coaching experience! KG will try and get things straightened out but will fail & place blame where ever he can. Who in their right mind would put their kid in a place where they're not going to have success.
Conflict of interest, nepotism or is it just a lack of not caring? U15-all I can say is shame on you ST.

At U16 they bring back Santa Clause, anyone who has any hockey knowledge will just roll their eyes and shack their head. Another long season ahead for our U16 group.

U18 they rehired the guy who won five games last year at U16. Wonder why? Isn't VP CD's kid going to be at this level this year? Just shameful.

Where did the CHAMP end up? Just another one hit wonder.

Future problems will occur with our younger age groups as the "influential daddy's" secure their kids spots. Bringing in JO will be the biggest mistake this executive has ever done!

Time will tell but the future doesn't look too bright even with open borders happening. Good luck to all at 'tryouts"
Allowing JO in is a mistake, unless the plan is to sideline her after thanksgiving after cards on teams are full.
I don’t have a horse in any race on any of these teams as my kid has aged out. But why is allowing JO to come in and coach? Her success in QRD seems pretty solid. I see the VP didn’t even show up to tryouts today as he was in QRD, guess he doesn’t like DT coaching his kid? Good luck to all the kids this yr. Your gonna need it with Santa coaching draft yr age kids.
DT, I guess it would be awful having an ex pro hockey player as a coach what would he know about the game?
Just another self indulged Daddy running his kid every other shift. Keep selling houses. @GK hire a non-parent for this group without ties to the Daddy group

Anyone else just waiting to see if vp kissed enough ass to buy his kid a spot on the bench? With all the quinte kids that JC signed, there won’t be any ice for the Kingston kids.

Doyle kid already signed for GK U 18, then only got the cast offs from Quinte so they still will be bottom 2-3.

How do you feel as an organization, with teams predominantly QUINTE kids, especially at the U15 and U18 age groups? As the soon viral TikTok shows - where do the U15 Kingston kids go now that the U15 Quinte team folded? I feel for the kids and families that have been loyal to Kingston - are good enough for AAA but can't travel over an hour to another centre. Let's hear some other parents thoughts on this.

U18 Kingston will be worse than last year. Signed way too many 09’s and QRD kids were asked to find new homes. JC is not a very good coach, showed last year.

How is it possible all Qrd kids are wearing gk helmets for the U 15 tryouts. Weird they would buy one before tryouts are completed.

Are you really surprised? They didn’t come to Kingston to tryout. They had the spot already. Both u15&u18. It’s become quinte east with open borders and unfortunately the association doesn’t care that their local kids are getting screwed. They’ve never cared. They’ve allowed it before. They’ve been losing for years as there’s no development so they welcome QRD kids as they’ve been taught along the way in hopes of winning more than 2 games a year. The exec and whole program needs to be completely revamped. President trashing AA kids, VP taking his kids elsewhere when he didn’t get his way, coaches who have been repeatedly reported and complained about rehired just for a different age group incase parents don’t complain about lack of professionalism and development. It’s just a shuffle game as anyone who has any talent isn’t staying here. 1 kid drafted this year. 1. And he barely played. That tells you everything you need to know 🤷‍♀️
