Barrie just beat Oakville in the tourney.
Is this Barrie MD team equal or stronger than Purple cobras?
Set up the “Scrimmage” and find out
Cobras tier 1 much Stronger but how many are just from Barrie? I'm sure colts AAA will be a hybrid of md/cobras. Oakville beat cobras tier 2 by 1 last year and apparently lost all their top players this year
I heard the same about Oakville. They have 4-5 T1 kids in KSL who left due to coach who can’t even skate properly and plays his kid all the time. The whole coaching bench there are daddy looking after their kid. Had they got a non-parent coach, they would have been top tier team in OMHA.
It is quite easy as an Oakville parent to narrow down those few who would make this particular comment on the bench staff. Those “dad’s” on the bench include dads with great hockey careers under their belts and a coach who has coached at both a National and International level for over 20 years. There are a few who left after last season and those parents did what they believed was best for their child and I suppose it’s easiest to say it is because of the coaches but what I can say is dads or not they run excellent practices and are top notch role models for our kids. Have we struggled against teams like Duffield… yes… but at this young age unlike many other teams these coaches did not run a short bench just to win. They have focused on developing a large number of kids and looking at the bigger picture since after all they are 8 and 9 years old! What I can say for sure is that some of those who left last season did not have a negative impact on the team on or off the ice.
Nice speech. Truth is that some of Oakville 2016 kids are playing up in the G. Some are going to be playing for JRC. But that’s fine with OR coz they have 20 yrs non-hockey experienced coach who loses all tournaments…and there is no equal ice time. Ask the parents on the team..lol. All observations of a MD2 parent :-)

Wonder how many Markham, Stouffville, Aurora, King, Richmond Hill will bolt for the G and specifically to the Markham Islanders...

Who knows? Most of the good kids from the area are already committed somewhere.

Its more likely kids from other areas that come in and fill the two Markham teams.

I've been in contact with Islanders AA. They play out of Thornhill Community Centre so not a bad location for us.

Sure if they wish to play AA and drive in traffic. Those kids will not make AAA except a very rare few.

Were you holding your bubly water while typing that? If you are going to talk about the coach like that and my team then come say it our faces. Just because you got cut this year, doesn’t mean we need to hide behind a guest log in. - From the Oakville MD1 Team Manager. See how I just told you who I was? And it’s my first time writing on here. I’ll see you at the arena.

Let’s deflect from the facts and do name calling. This cohort is similar to U12 OR cohort. Great in creating small clubs of people but no results. Enjoy your time..
