Burnout is a real thing. Plus, it's not looking so promising when dad is 5'6" and was never an athlete, so enjoy the time now being able to tell people your kid plays AAA because it likely won't last very long.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 1:31 pmGuest wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 10:51 amNo sense to make this type of ranking comment. Let’s say top 5 will be.
Nats
JRC
TM
VK
NYR.
The best athletes are playing other sports this summer too, and not being forced to follow sweatshop-style regiments like mommy and daddy had to go through growing up overseas. No matter how passionate or 'dedicated' our kids are about hockey, no 9 year old wants to spend their entire summer break doing 10 weeks of both morning and afternoon hockey camps...this is borderline child abuse. Give your head a shake.

Re: 2016 AAA
Saw the North American Showcase semi finals today.
The Toronto Bulldogs Erlich vs Minnesota Pre Brick team.
Tight game 2-1 Minnesota with 3 minutes left. Then an empty net goal to clinch.
I was told 10 of the bulldog players and goalies were on the u10 Jrc team. They were quite good. They'll be tough to beat next year.

Re: 2016 AAA
TM will probably be the top team with JRC and VK.
The rest will be wide open with the exception of Rebels and nothing should surprise.

GTHL: To start the season, this is how it will play out - 5 tiers
TM // JRC
VK // Nats // DMF
TT //SENS
TRW // REPS
MM // Rebels // NYR
- TRW has an opportunity to move up if they get a different coach who knows what hes doing
- VK//Nats // DMF all have an opportunity to play competitive hockey with TM and JRC with good coaching
- REPS will be a totally different team next year when it blows up and OHP lady is told to kick rocks
- NYR are the least toxic team
- TT and SENS both have solid rosters, just simply aren't "Super teams"
OMHA: 5 Tiers as well, this is what the first half of the season will look like.
WW
QRD
YSE // BJC // APR // KING
PETB // COW
NCP // MW // NS
- WW won't have a competitive game against anyone except QRD, who might even squeak out a win against them
- YSE, BJC, APR, KING all have really solid teams with solid coaching should all be competitive with each other. APR might be the first team to drop out of this group.
- NCP as one or two really good players and then dog shit
- MW is a mess
- NS is durham kids left overs after APR/WW/COW all got first pick
- PETB is my sleeper team to possibly come out of no where.
Good luck to everyone!
Re: 2016 AAA
I agree with most of this, hard to argue without much in the way of games to see. Only GTHL teams are putting full blown spring teams together. I don't think anyone outside of Whitby as (Young Kings) is doing it from OMHA. I am sure a bunch of them are playing spring hockey but not as a full team.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jun 10, 2025 8:42 amGTHL: To start the season, this is how it will play out - 5 tiers

If we meshed it together, this is my best guess:
TM, JRC, WW (2 GTHL, 1 OMHA)
QRD, VK, Nats (2 GTHL, 1 OMHA)
DMF, TT, SENS, YSE, BJC, APR (3 GTHL, 3 OMHA)
KING, TRW, REPS (2 GTHL, 1 OMHA)
----------------------------------------------------------------
PETB, COW, NYR (1 GTHL, 2 OMHA)
MM, Rebels, MW (2 GTHL, 1 OMHA)
NS, NCP ( 0 GTHL, 2 OMHA)
GTHL is "better" when you look at it like this, but the top three tiers are a lot closer then most think between the two leagues, out of "new" 12 team league, its 7 GTHL and 5 OMHA. Each tier, still has an 80% chance of beating the tier below it. 4th tier and up, is great hockey and in my opinion still truly AAA hockey. below that, it starts to get spotty IMO, teams having a mix of truly AAA players and players who aren't.

No love for the AAA OMHA West? Niagara, Burlington, Oakville, etc...? I'd say they will be in the middle-of-the-pack mix as well.
Re: 2016 AAA
VK beat DMF 10+ vs nothing in a tournament weeks ago. Any specific reason group them in same tier? Agree with VK and Nats they were close in NYHL gamesGuest wrote: ↑Tue Jun 10, 2025 8:42 amGTHL: To start the season, this is how it will play out - 5 tiers
