Why is there such a gap in the level of play between the Toronto teams and the others in this tournament?

There are 8 Ontario teams in HHOF, some kids playing in the other tourney, and some kids playing other sports. If you had one or two Ontario teams with all the top kids, they could compete. Spring hockey is a business and Ontario parents are suckers.

I might not know too much about hockey but I do know one thing. The biggest job a coach has is recruiting players. You can be the best coach in the world but if you don't have the players to coach then your coaching tools are useless. This is AAA. We are out of toddler hockey. The onus is now on the parent/player to develop skills and the coach needs to apply those skills in team structure. In minor hockey from u10-u16, recruiting is 75% of coaching.

the Young Nats coach AD has shit for brains. The team has been getting slaughtered and you can see the little guy screaming on the bench, lost and confused. He tells everyone he coaches the U12 Young Nats team that was #1 in North America but I found out he joined the team after they were already ranked #1 and had won a major tournament. He did shit. All this little guy seems to care about is playing his crappy kid as much as he can. Be warned of parent coaches!

Well no shit, he will bring in as much skill so his kid can be insulated. Yelling wheel wheel from the bench doesn't mean you can coach. Guys I hate to tell you, there aren't many good coaches till contact is introduced that's the Gods honest truth.

How was their game with JRC?

Why take personal jabs at the coach or any kid. They lost badly against TB DE aka JRC. The players they added made them just slightly better than what they were in NYHL where there was very little if any competition. VK looks much stronger than Nats but it’s still very early.
