Then who makes up the Waxers? I haven't heard who the coach is (I think its the last one I don't know)Guest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 9:37 amMost will go to IslandersGuest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 8:43 amWho are the Waxers pulling from? Total garbage organizationGuest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 5:22 pm A lot of these parents continued to bash KSL and now reality is sinking in how far behind these kids are. There are still a handful kids who will make AAA from MD but it’s rare. Every coach is going to KSl and building teams.
2016 MD OMHA

Re: 2016 MD OMHA
Waxers MD, Richmond Hill MD but majority will be Stouffville MS like every year. This team will not be strong. Come check out Waxers MD and it’s a mess.
Re: 2016 MD OMHA
From what I am aware of, this might be the worst team in OMHA. Even COW's roster sounds better.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 9:53 am Waxers MD, Richmond Hill MD but majority will be Stouffville MS like every year. This team will not be strong. Come check out Waxers MD and it’s a mess.
Re: 2016 MD OMHA
How is existing Oakville MD team ranking against KSL ? Not sure if they have setup games with any of the KSL TIER 1 teams . Heard that a bunch of kids left because of the Coach.
Re: 2016 MD OMHA
Burlington parent here, we play Oakville MD1 all the time. They would be a very good Tier 2 KLVR team. They have beat tier 1 teams, can hang with Duffield. If you ask them they are happy to have developed 6 new kids after 6 left last year from their U8 team. They feel and I think they are right that their core of 5-8 skaters can compete with anyone, depth hurts them. We in Burlington are a similar story.
Re: 2016 MD OMHA
Not true, there are exceptions. There are a couple kids on almost every MD team that would have a chance at being on a AAA roster. Two issues though: exposure and competition.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 10:28 pm MD kids are not AAA, they're A/AA.
You aren't at the tournaments most coaches are going to go watch games at, and you aren't playing against other kids who are good. So when a AAA coach comes to watch, they might notice your kid - but will immediate question if you are actually that good, or are you playing against pylons.
coaches aren't stupid (most of the time) they understand context. So if you are an MD kid, its smart to think about who you are doing extra skates with. What are their connections to AAA coaches. Would they vouch for you? One day tournaments through Everest and OHP are good to do as well, because you fix the "competition part" and you might get noticed if you stand out in that setting too.
Re: 2016 MD OMHA
Depth is the difference between almost all T1 and T2 teams in KSL, don't sweat it.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2025 8:07 am Burlington parent here, we play Oakville MD1 all the time. There are obviously the top 4 or 5 KSL teams that attract the best players and are legit T1. But after that, almost any team that is considered T1 is because they have 10-12 skaters max. It is always that bottom 5 on most rosters that bring the whole team down. But at this age, its fine. The development is worth it, because sometimes out of those bottom 5 kids you get a kid that things finally click and you have actually been a part of the development of the kid. Thats what coaching should be like.
Re: 2016 MD OMHA
COW has coaching and a core... it might be some of the strongest coaching in the entire loop. This Markham team will not have coaching and no core. The Waxers performed little to no due diligence on their guy. It's going to be a rough season for anybody who plays for this team.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 9:56 amFrom what I am aware of, this might be the worst team in OMHA.
