Coaching and Championships ..
The conversations around the rink this weekend were pretty common about who is "for sure" staying and who is "for sure" leaving. Should be lots of drama to finish this season. Keep it classy parents.
it will always come down to coaching. the current U13 (next years U14) will have a lot of movement if they don't change coaches.
Even if he were a good coach, which he isn’t, having the same coach for one age group benefits no one.

Guest wrote: Mon Dec 23, 2024 10:54 am I'm in a nearby association. Also lots of musing about bailing in our association. Sounds like nobody is happy with our "hometown hockey". Expect little to change. The demand for 3rd line A or AA wingers is low. But nice to know kids will have options.
Thanks for posting. Question for you, my kid is the worst kid on his rep team in aurora, but we're nervous if his team folds he won't have a place to play rep anymore. Seems like all the butt kissing and toxic behavior I've caused for the past several years has gone to waste if they do in fact fold. Any tips for who to reach out to in your association to volunteer? I can't skate but would like to remain involved.

You might as well just take your kid out of hockey altogether and put him in dance class of some kind, jazz, ballet, modern dance they need a lot of boys and that activity and you also go on competitions and it’s a nice community. Sounds more your speed.

The only good coach in U13 is the B coach.. AA and A coaches are useless.

Wishing all the Aurora Minor Hockey Families the very best this holiday season. Clearly a few disgruntled nay sayers in this forum. For those directly involved in the AMHA, I know you are feeling that the best is yet to come. Open borders will provide opportunity to complement teams across players, coaches and volunteers. I am sure you are sensing your teams on the upswing for the final 1/3 or so of the season. We are looking forward to hosting an extensive group of out of town teams for the Joe Bentolila Classic .. this will showcase just how strong our rep team are at the AMHA U14/U15 levels This tournament along with the final stretch of the regular season will lead all level of rep teams into an extended playoff run building even more OHF championships for AMHA. Finally, coaches are getting selected and tryouts coming together in May for an even stronger 25/26. For those in house league/tyke .. what an amazing season! Go Tigers Go!

You are toxic. Hopefully Santa brings you coal.

Why worry about a few critics? If it’s just a handful, why does it matter? I know Amha enjoys defying parents by hiring coaches they disapprove of. But now, parents have the opportunity to push back against Amha.

With open boarders most of the YSE teams will be making changes, players not making the grade could boost NMHA and AMHA AA teams.

This is true. A lot of AAA players and families are looking to Aurora as an alternative to remaining in AAA.

The benefits range from lack of ice time, financial malfeasance, incompetent coaches, and a confrontational board headed up by the biggest clown in the OMHA.

If I were a neighbouring association I would be worried of losing all my players.

Excluding the U11's all YSE teams are in the top 3 standings, If they all reqruit additional players the kids that get cut will get picked up by other AAA centres. Wishful thinking but ZERO chance they play for the Tigers or Renegades next year.
