2017s only have one more year of Klevr and so far the new elite NYHL teams have nobody…so for next year, the top 2017s (who are currently in Klevr) will continue to be in Klevr. No one is going back to NYHL at this point and no one is talking about whether the same kids will be top for U11-U16. But for right now and likely next year the top are going to be Klevr. Pretty sure the question was about who the top 2017s are right now and not who they will be in 5 years. I doubt anyone knows that, but if you do based on your extensive experience, please elaborate. Also, you think the kids that are amazing right now aren’t athletic or have no hockey iq? Sure…Guest wrote: ↑Sat Mar 22, 2025 9:32 pm"Are and will continue to be in klevr" is a dumb comment. You have no clue who will be a top player at 11, 13, 15. You clearly have no older children and are basing this on no facts. There's no historical data to base this on. Klevr promotes AAA training and mentality at a younger age which obviously will result in more skill at young ages. Whether or not you klevr kids can stand the test of time is nowhere near proven. Half the 2015s will be burnt out in 2 years and they're already starting to fade. The skill gap closes. You can skate little Johnny 20 times a day but come u14 AAA (if he can hang on that long), that advantage will diminish and athleticism, IQ take over. Enjoy your little feeling that your kid is so amazing at 7-8. You all are a joke.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Mar 22, 2025 8:04 amTop 2017s are and will continue to be in Klevr. If NYHL actually wants to build, they need to start at U7 or they somehow need to punish players and coaches for being involved in Klevr right before GTHL - but they won’t do that either.
As a parent with older kids playing real AAA G hockey, I'll give you some advice, stay humble and don't be ignorant. Karma catches up.

Then yes, next year klevr will run the show with top kids. Just stay humble because some parents understand how to maintain the right place and understand that being top now is irrelevant other than awesome posts on IG.
I've been at this age group multiple times. Kids who are on the ice the most, have access to quality training and work hard move ahead very quickly. Puberty changes everything. Athleticism doesn't always translate at older ages. No one has hit a real growth spurt at this age. I've seen "athletic" kids quickly get bypassed by 12. It's like saying my kid is an athlete because he's the fastest 100m runner at his school at 7-8. At this age it changes and it's likely the kid won't be at grade 8. No one says oh but that kid was an athlete at 7 because most understand it's not a true depiction of athleticism.
Also, size difference is a non issue at 7-8. Yes there will be bigger, smaller kids at the age but it's not exposed like it will be soon. The size gap only increases in the years to come, especially with contact.
IQ at 7-8 is not real IQ. Hockey doesn't resemble real hockey at this age. You can think it does but it simply isn't. The plays are not advanced enough and you have tons of time to make decisions vs even 3 years from now. So to answer your question, IQ at 7-8 is a false sense of IQ longer term. Not to say some won't continue to the pace and continue to excel. Again, stay humble as the rankings do change. I do hope your kid stays at the top but historically, the top kids rarely stay at the top throughout. Pace your kid. Literally no one remembers or cares who was the top dog at this age. It's irrelevant. May not seem like it because you're in it right now but you'll look back down the road and understand.
Enjoy the ride. It's fun and you'll look back and miss these days. Just don't think you have all the answers because many get it wrong and end up eating humble pie. Burnout is real, requirement for high level hockey is real, puberty and body contact are real. This is diaper hockey boys

I think you heard wrong. It won't be half ice.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Mar 22, 2025 8:25 pmYou heard wrong
Re: 2017 AAA
This U9 Elite division will not be half ice. And it's laughable to claim that teams like HV Black, NT Red, etc. will only be producing A players! Will every player go to AAA? No, it will be a mix of future AA and AAA players. Even those organizations' second best teams produce AA players. This is not to say that even better talent can't be found in Klevr.

I know at least 2-3 18’17 going back local from a tier 1, due to travel, larger role on a tier 1 / MD team, cost, Klevr is great but also about choice.
For pro Klevr, ask yourselves how many squads are true AAA feeder… I would say distro going back to AA or A will mirror that on a percent basis of the G sanctioned and MD programs

Raiders beat kings once again in finals after a 15-0 win vs SWO in the semis.
These two teams are well above the rest of the age group but Raiders still have the edge on the kings. Will anyone make a push to truly compete with either group next year?

Raiders puck movement and structure was the clear difference as a spectator but good on both teams with how talented all the players are Canada's hockey future is still bright!
