There are alot of good well intentioned people that serve on boards. They have zero self interest and are simply giving back to their community. Yes these type of people do exist. Then there is elgins board. Filled with self serving garbage. The problem is the parents/membership treats the good and bad board members exactly the same way-With hate - contempt and suspicion. Everyone assumes the worst in every decision that is made. Board members are instantly hated and marked for destruction. Heres the rub - the truly evil people can weather it because they are first to give it out. They are only on the board for their own political agenda and know how to manipulate members and coaches so their weak kids get preferential treatment . The good well intentioned board members and coaches will always get blind sided by the evil - and their kids will pay the price. Why would any decent person want any part of it? They wouldn’t!. This is why boards are full of evil self serving people. Open borders will make boards even worse. Thankfully you can shop around orgs now.

Re: EMC - What a joke!
The board has some good people. The “evil” is executed at the coaches level. Its the coaches that ultimately fk with the kids. Alot of the board are scumbags but the worst they can do is manipulate the process to get a shitbag coach in. The true evil starts when the coach is picked. Some of the worst human beings ive ever met have coached in elgin. And we are getting a couple more evil all stars for next year.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 11:07 amThere are alot of good well intentioned people that serve on boards. Does anyone know how the team picking is going to work? Will the whole team be signed or part?
Re: EMC - What a joke!
Take a good look at the coaching and the abuse of power that takes place at Elgin, and the board picks these people. You are paying to have your player developed, you don’t have to stay if you don’t want to.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 6:30 pmThe board has some good people. Re: EMC - What a joke!
Any abuse of power is perpetrated entirely by coaches. The board only makes crooked decisions because they are getting manipulated by the coaches- the coaches prey on the weak board members and promise them the moon- so they are more than willing to get the crooked coaches in. It always comes back to coaches - even if the board is full of brain dead conmen.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 8:33 pmTake a good look at the coaching and the abuse of power that takes place at Elgin, and the board picks these people. Re: EMC - What a joke!
Its the coach mentors particularly who are getting manipulated by coaches and abusing power. Dave warren was the absolute worst - he manipulated the entire association for his loser son. Then brain dead williams comes in to act as dbs puppet. The biggest mistake elgin made this year was picking dm for u18. This was because williams was told to do it by bd.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 8:31 amAny abuse of power is perpetrated entirely by coaches. Re: EMC - What a joke!
No one wants to jump organizations but if you’re this upset it may be the best option for you. Elgin will lose players because they have a greasy reputation, and are ok with bench drama, they don’t seem to understand what good coaching is, it’s more than winning, it’s a culture. Sarnia and London are so close it just makes sense to go if you’re not happy.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 9:00 amIts the coach mentors particularly who are getting manipulated by coaches and abusing power.
